nice beach in Long Beach?

chelito191

im taking my wife for the first time down to L.A. and i wanted to take her to Long Beach but i wanted to arrive around sunset anyone know a good beach to watch it

Answer
If you love your wife don't take her to the beach in Long Beach. We have some of the most polluted beaches in California.
The Palos Verdes Peninsula and the port cranes block the sunset view anyway.
I do recommend going to Founders Park in Palos Verdes for a very romantic and pretty park to watch the sunset. They have picnic tables you can sit at and unlike the park benches in LBC the homeless haven't been sleeping on them. The address and link for the park are below.
The pier in neighboring Seal Beach is another good place to watch the sunset.

Best *quiet* beach near San Francisco?

My husband and I are coming to SF/Marin County in early April and would really like to spend some time on the beach, but want to avoid crowds. We don't really plan on swimming (shark paranoia), just wading/sunning/picnicing, so depth of water or surf quality isn't really an issue. Sand (as opposed to rock) would be nice.

Any suggestions?

China Beach is one of the most uncrowded beaches in San Francisco. It's a small beach with great views (especially of The Golden Gate Bridge), and is a nice place to relax. The beach has restrooms and picnic tables. Lots of free parking. It's located at 490 Sea Cliff Drive in San Francisco. The sunsets are spectacular with the Golden Gate Bridge right in view.
