I'm writing a short story about a boy who vacations in Venice and meets a girl there and I wanna know some good romantic hotspots I can use in it. I already got the plot and characters, but I need to know more about the setting. For now if someone could help me out with this, I'd appreciate it. Thank you.

Just about anywhere in Venice can be romantic with all the bridges and canals. You don't have to go far to get away from the crowds of tourists. Even places like Piazza San Marco can be private early in the morning when there are few people out and about. On foggy mornings with the Basilica San Marco and Campanile looming out of the fog, it's easy to believe you've been transported back in time. Restaurants tucked along the canals with canal-side tables are good. For example, at Da Raffaele, the gondolas pass by as you eat. http://www.ristorantedaraffaele.com/ristorante-eng.htm . A gondola ride in the off season when the canals aren't packed with them is good, especially in the evening. It's expensive though so it may not suit your characters. One place that can be very romantic is the Giardini near the end of the island. The island curves so that there is a great view looking back at the Doges Palace, the Punta della Dogana and San Giorgio. It's beautiful panoramic view especially at sunset. You could also have your characters visit the Lido island and go to the beach. It can be crowded, but an early morning beach walk at sunrise can be quite romantic. If your story takes place in July, there's the Il Redentore festival - very crowded, but the fireworks over the lagoon are quite spectacular.

What kind of activities, bars, restaurants, or hotels is a must in Key west.?

My husband and I like a hotel with some perks of beauty, love fun bars and Restaurants, and would love to visit some neat places in Key west. Any suggestions would be helpful.

The ocean key house is a great place, situated right on duval and the pier where the sunset celebration takes place every evening. The rooms are more like condos than a hotel room with a nice big jacuzzi int he bedroom. Two places that I would recommend for dinner or lunch are either louies backyard which is rather famous for the view and amazing food, I actually was a little worried that it was one of those tourist traps the first time I planned on going there, but it really could not have been better or more beautiful, the other is Latitudes, You will need to take the shuttle boat for a 10 minute sail to the private Island where the restaurant is located, make sure to make reservations in advance and make sure to request one of the out door tables that are right on the beach sand. Once again the view is outstanding and the atmosphere is perfect. Both places are a bit pricey, but certainly worth it. As far as bars are concerned, take your pick, keywest has no shotage of high energy bars and clubs. Have fun!!!
