We are throwing my sister a babyshower and the theme is "under the water" she is crazy about turtles and the baby's room is going to be done in fish and turtles and other sea things. What would be a cute and creative thank you gift for a baby shower? anyone seem any cute links ? Thank for your help
The thank you gifts would be for the guest who come.

Honestly, I've been to a few showers lately and it seems that people are moving away from having thank you favors or whatever you want to call them. Most of them just get thrown out and although they are cute, they really don't serve too much use. If you feel that you HAVE to get something, try this idea...

Place card holds are nice because you can put everyone's name on a little card on a main table near the enterance and they can pick it up when they arrive and bring it to their seat, or you can have them already on each table, if you're going to have assigned seats.
Than, after the shower, the guests can use the placecard holders as a photo holder.
As another idea with the place card holders, instead of using them for names...you can put baby pictures of the mom and dad in each of the holders and decorate the center of the tables and the gift tables with them...than leave a little basket and tell everyone to take a place card holder when they leave, but to put the photo in the basket!
Good luck and have fun with it! Very cute theme!!

Questions about a small wedding/reception (about 12-15 people)?

Been there
We're having a small wedding on the beach and then a reception in a private room in the hotel.
There will be 5 guest tables, each seating 2-4 people. My fiance and I will sit at a table for 2.
Are placecards necessary for such a small group?
Also, any ideas for wedding favors? If I use the place cards I was thinking of some sort of beach themed holder. If I go with the holder, do I need to have one per person, or one per couple? For example, one couple and their 5 year old are sitting at one table, should I have place cards for each of them or just one - i.e. Jones family
I would like to use disposable cameras for guests to take their own shots and then give back to us. Generally are these left on the tables, or on the table with the guest book?
For a guest book I thought of buying an autograph picture frame for guests to sign instead, as there is only going to be 10 signatures or so.
Thanks for your help! Also, any advice for people who have had small weddings or beach weddings is appreciated. I immigrated from another country and only had a few months to plan the wedding so needless to say, being new to town it was difficult to find the right vendors, etc.
Thanks in advance.
Awesome suggestions, ladies.
And you're right - why spend money on a bunch of trinkets people are going to throw away? I love the food idea, as well as the little beach gift pails.
I want it to be fairly casual and laid back - just want everyone to have a nice dinner and enjoy their time.
Thanks so much! You saved me a lot of time (and some money!) deciding on favors.
Answer
No, place cards really aren't necessary.
Don't use place card holders as wedding favors. They are useless after people leave the wedding. Favors are not mandatory, so if you skip them then that's fine. If you WANT to offer a favor, do something people can eat or drink - cookies, candy, wine, chocolates, mints, small jars of honey or jame, etc. Trinkets get tossed in the trash.
I would attach a note to the cameras saying, "Please take some photos of the wedding, then leave them on the table when you're finished. Thanks!"
The autograph picture frame is a nice idea.
My tip is to have seating for everyone, for the ceremony and the reception. It sucks to have to stand.
