Best lightweight camping chair options?

Q. Looking for something really light weight with a backrest and legs that can support itself. I've seen the GCI PICO Chair (10 lbs.) and Quick-E-Seat (4.5 lbs.) which are both nice, but I'd like to get the weight down a bit more if I can. I've seen the Alite Monarch Butterfly Chair (18 oz.), but I would prefer a freestanding chair you can use in the typical way. Also trying to avoid stadium style chairs as you're basically sitting on the ground and they are of no help at a table. Thanks.

I would like to also be able to use this in a backpacking scenario, which is why I'm concerned about weight. Thanks.

The answer is the old aluminum chairs with the plastic webbing. There is a company making them, calling them retro, and charging $29.95. Better to find them in a garage sale. The ones with the continuous tube legs won't sink in on soft ground, any chair with the post style legs tend to sit unevenly unless on very firm and level ground. They have arms and you can lean back and put your feet up on a rock/log. Problem is they weigh just over 3 lbs. I only carry them on shorter trips (less than 20 miles) or when I expect everything to be wet. On the longer trips I carry a stadium type chair made by Hexalite, cost around $35. It's a big improvement over the inexpensive ones you commonly find. With it I can sit on a rock as small as the seat cushion itself and when properly adjusted it will give me firm back support, much better than any I've tried before.

I need money for summer camp!?

Q. I want to go to some really cool summer camp, but the only thing is it's a crap load of money ($4000). How could I raise som money so when I talk to my parents so I could put some money up to the table. I'm 14 and don't have a job, but I am a really hard worker and can do anything I put my mind to. KEEP ALLNEGATIVEE COMMENTS TO YOURSELF!!

Answer
You can work hard, or you can work smart, as they say.. Sounds like you're doin both. You should be an entrepreneur as career option lol. ^ ^

1. have a garage sale- make sure you ask mom otherwise itll make her mad to see the things she spent money on being sold for nothing. If you do yard sale, google yard sale tips because it can get crazy. Its like running a cash register while being security! An easier way to do this might be taking pictures of things you want to sell and post them on craigslist.com
2. Print out a cute "Moms Helper" flier with lists of things you'd do (clean gutters, mow lawns, wash dishes, vacuum, tutor younger children, play ball with younger kids or animals, etc, etc) be sure to add you're open to suggestions and add the reason why onto your flier at the bottom. People are more willing to give you work/their money if they know its for a good cause. Get mom or dad to help you word out a good flier. Pass them around neighborhoods wherever you go. Make sure they're not too cheesy in case your friends find them. Or enlist your friends for a quarter of the profits and the jobs will go faster allowing you to do more jobs. If your friend gets upset about only taking a quarter of the profit, explain to them that without your part in finding the work they wouldnt be making money in the first place. Besides- youre the boss. Or maybe you can return the favor and help said friend with jobs they find, get their entrepreneurial gears going. Be sure to keep track of wherever you go and always let your parents know in advance as there ARE people out there who could put you some serious hurt you jsut need to avoid.
3.love the other posters selling candy idea
4. clean cars
5. bargain with mom and dad, see if theyll match what you earn towards your camp trip.
6. Once you get going, set goals for yourself each week on how much you want to earn that week. This will help motivate you.
7. ask google! - found soo many interesting websites on the topic, I got all excited about figuring out how to use the amazing tool that has streamlined all of human technology into one database- the internet!
So far, the most interesting ones are zazzle.com and locationary.com
Good luck and remember, if you dont make camp this year, you can do it next year. Summer camp aside, you really have no idea how good just getting into the spirit of finding creative ways to make money is.
