Rather than pay a chiropractor to pop my back to adjust it, is it possible for me to do it myself?

You might try using an inversion table or relaxing on an incline bench. I use mine between chiropractic adjustments and it really helps to decompress the spine. But sometimes things get really locked up and getting an adjustment is the only thing that will help.
