Where to eat after a beach wedding in St. Pete or Tampa Florida area?

jennibean

We are planning a small (6 people) beach wedding. We don't really want to do anything big and we are looking for a restaurant to eat at after wards instead of having a reception. We just aren't sure where to have it. The wedding will be at St. Pete beach so any recommendations would be great. If they happen to have a "banquet" style (just a large table section tucked away) room even better.

Answer

Anyone have a review of Paradise Cove Campground at Lake Isabella, CA?

Ryan Corsa

Can't find any on the internet and we're trying to book a last minute camping spot.

Answer
PARADISE COVE CAMPGROUND
Located on south shore of Lake Isabella off Highway 178. Paved road; 58 family units and 80 RV sites; No limit on Trailer length; Restrooms-2 flush type, 1 with metered showers, and chemical toilets; Water; Fire rings, tables and grills; RV dump station, $8; Fish cleaning station. Open year round. Supplies at Mtn. Mesa. $20.00 per night. Sites 59-138, $14.00 per night, $5.00 for each additional vehicle, Dry and dusty but good in location very close to the boat launch, occasional bear issues so keep the food and poodle locked in at night. bring your own shade and a way to tie it down the afternoon winds kick up pretty good at times. Not my top choice because of the lack of shade and the primary wind direction makes it's beaches take the worst of it I prefer the west shore campgrounds or camping on the river above or below the lake. My top choice is Hobo south of the lake.

camping grounds in southern california by water?

Vahe

I want to go camping with like 10 people, I need a place by water that's swimmable(clean) like a clean lake or something and I'd prefer if they had restrooms, or just toilets, but it's cool if it doesn't, somewhere maybe by los angeles, not too close to nevada or mexico, any Ideas would be much appreciated, oh and a place where I wouldn't need a permit.
I did say southern california, lake Tahoe is way to far.

Answer
Well all your beaches are out, all of southern california's beaches unless they have a campground are closed to overnight camping. All of southern California's beach campgrounds are reservable anywhere from 7 months to a year in advance and were booked for the summer that long ago.

Your popular lake destinations like Big bear, Silver wood, Castaic, lake perris are under the same conditions booked 7 months ago. However they may have a week day spot.

Now you open up some opportunity by camping in dispersed area's where you won't need a permit accept to build a fire. However your group is on the big side. So you want water that is swim-able and toilets there is only one destination I can think of and it pushes your southern california request to the limit. For you I recommend the kern river north of lake isabella at one of the many dispersed campsites along the river they are free some sites have portable toilets fire rings and picnic tables. to get one go midweek Mon- thur they will be filled up by thursday night. Good luck!

Does this beach exist?

KD

I've been having a recurring dream about a beach. It feels very familiar to me, but I've only been to the beach once, and the beach I went to was not the beach in my dream. But anyways, some details:
The water is not wide. When you stand on one sandy beach you can clearly see a beach on the other side.
I don't believe it is a lake, because there were ocean creatures in the water/washing up on the beach with the waves.
There is a very large parking lot/parking garage, with huge round pillars (looked to be metal) painted blue and supporting a building located right before the start of the sand.
There is a large ramp that you can walk up to reach rentable rooms where you can stay overnight. These rooms are in the building over the parking lot. It wasn't a beach house or pay before you go kind of thing. You could just walk up and rent a room if they weren't all full.
There were a few small pools full of the water from the sea/ocean with small marine life in them (starfish, etc.) that the little kids could swim in if they were afraid of the water.
There was a cafe with a floor less room attached where you could sit at tables and have the seawater come in with the waves and wash over your feet, (sometimes bringing marine life like shells, crabs, and starfish in with it).
There is a giant curvy bridge that goes over the water.
It was very busy, but I recall someone saying it was only busy on certain days of the year (one being the day we went there).
It did not have a boardwalk.
So, I may be crazy for asking this question, but I am really curious as to if this beach exists. Please no rude answers. Also, please do not answer if you plan on joking.
Thanks Rene :) I have taken what you said into consideration. I know dreams are usually just memories or the twisting of memories that you've had. I thought about asking my parents, but I know for sure they would think I was crazy :p
I will definitely try that. I got a name in the dream, but when I searched it didn't exist. Maybe it possibly got warped or I just made the beach name/beach up.

Answer
Try looking at google images, and see if you can find it. It may have been a composition of various aspects of things from your life from actually having visited beaches, having seen images of beaches in movies, what your brain actually thinks a beach should look like, and what your brain is trying to mentally process at the time.

Is this a Good Deal on Bluebird Bus Conversion to an RV (motorhome)?

Jason A

I am looking to buy a 1979 Bluebird flat nosed Bus Conversion. Let me give you some details about the bus, Ill copy and paste from the Gentleman's add....1979 Bluebird bus completely converted to nice motor home. 5 year old 427 Chevrolet gas engine (completely rebuilt) 4000 watt two year old gas generator, 2 year old easy hook up tow hitch, 30 or 50 amp. electric, two roof top air conditioners (one runs on 30 amp and both run on 50 amp.) Satellite dish system, Long heavy duty electrical cord included, 20 inch TV installed in cupboard above driver's/passenger's seats, driver's seat and passenger's bucket seats like new. propane two burner stove with grill and small oven, wall mounted propane heater, quick recovery hot water heater, 30 gallon fresh water tank, large holding tank with fittings and hose for emptying tank (storage for hose on side of motor home) 10 cubic ft. refrigerator with freezer, private bathroom with sink and flush commode and lots of storage, private bedroom with queen size bed, with lots of storage, livingroom storage benches convert to full size bed (includes full size easy inflate air mattress), large microwave oven, lots of counter space and deep cupboards and drawers, kitchen table leaf extends table to seat four people comfortably (includes four folding chairs in excellent condition), privacy roll down thermal backed shades for front of motor home, motor home shades on other windows, Large easy set-up attachable awning..... Ok so there is the add. i went to look at it and it does look like it is in really great shape, and truly if i didnt see the outside i would never know that I wasnt in an expensive motor home...the inside was very well done. Apparently it was a campaign bus for one of the state senators at some point and time...anyhow they are asking 8000 and it had just come down from 10k a few weeks ago. The gentleman has lost a leg and is elderly I think is just looking to get rid of it and not really make anything on it...Is this a fair priced or am I out of whack?
really im not sure if it has separate tanks for black and gray water but everything else seems to be done properly so im guessing yes, thats a question i need to ask. I cant imagine it would be all that much more to have an additional tank put in. All he showed me with the sewer was how it hooked up
I just looked at a diagram on the plumbing. Only has one dump valve so definately no grey water tank. However there is no shower, so maybe the impact isnt all that great.

Answer
Doesn't sound too bad for $8,000. The 30 gallon fresh water tank won't take you far if you're dry camping somewhere though. It doesn't say if it has separate holding tanks for grey and black water. That would be a concern.

People asking about hallucinogenic drugs. What do you think of this "episode" that happened to me on them?

Q. Since people frequently are posting questions about Magic Mushrooms, LSD and such. Here is what happened to me many years ago. What do you think??

Ok so I took six hits of 4 way windowpane LSD. I lost who and where I was. All I remember was being in the middle of a highwaytrying to stand up but I kept falling down. I was crawling around. Cars were screaching to stop and swerving. Honking their horns. Some body was sying "oh my God" I remember talking in gibberish and making animal like sounds. I remember a guy pulling up next to me and saying "Buddy can I help you?". I was on all fours. I lashed out at him with a bunch of animal sounds. I remember staggering away into the woods. I remember waking up in a park next to a bench. On the bench were carved the words "Jimmi Page" and Jimmy Hendrix". I was awstruck by the depth of the words. They summed up my life in some way but I know not how. Then I walked a while and came upon a police car in the park. No one was in it. I tried to open the back door to get in and sit in the back seat. I was going to explain to the cop that I was tripping and did not know how to get
home. And would he take me home wherever home was? But it was locked. Then I tried to break the glass of the window to get in but it would not break by hitting it with my hand. Then I continued in the forest. Then I was convinced I was dead. I needed to get home to find my opituary because I wanted to attend my own funeral. Then I came upon a horse. The horse jumped. I fell to my knees thanking God I was alive because the horses moved and horses cannot sense dead people. But then a thought came to me. I thought "maybe horses can sense dead people." How do you spiritually read all this? I think I learned a lot. Also something else. There was one point when I was lying on the ground looking up at the stars. Then I got up and sat on a log. I lit a joint. Just as I lit it I was back on the ground looking at the stars. Then I was back on the log smoking the joint. Then I stood up walked to the center of the field and looked at my friend who was also tripping at a high level. I smiled and rose my hands above my head. My friend said "Don't do it". In a defient manner I said "Yes". And clapped my hands together above my head. As soon as I did it I was instantly shooting through the universe not bound by time or space. I also remember being in a state of pure mental orgasm. I could see generations upon infinite generations both backwards in time for infinity and forwards in infinity. The next day I found out that when I clapped my hands together my friend saw me dissappear and die. The whole forest turned to a wasteland of burned embers. He freaked out and made his way somehow back to my parents house. He walked in the door and went into their bedroom and got in bed with them like a scared child. They turned on the lights and saw him. He started crying and told them I was dead. But he did not know what happened. My mother stayed up all night comforting him. The next day I made my way home in the morning after I got back in my body. But no one was home. They were in the park looking for my body as they thought I was dead. I still thought I was dead so I started looking through the newspaper on the kitchen table for my obituary. I wanted to attend my own funeral. Then my mother and my friend came through the door. Then everythins was OK. This is how it went. This was the most important experience of my life in the world of universal knowledge. Not the crazy stuff but the experience of seing the infinite generations in the past and the future. What do you think? Pretty cool?

Answer
" How do you spiritually read all this?"
Um, you were just high as your were not really dead! I dont think their was any hidden truth there but I get the drift seeing the carved in hendrix, like it was left there for you a road map, no its just graffiti.

Yes thats not good trip, more though you should have had just two tabs not 4. 4 and even 10 can cause damage.

I used to take moderate doses. Once 2 tabs but nothing better then normal as far as tripping.

Best to try moderation as you can and do try to fly off buildings or get out in the snow and die (Unless you have a guardian) but trippers can decide the guardian is evel.

Its more fun to try group activities, water guns, water guns with liquor, (dont get in the eye!) Drinking large quantities of wine is also quite fun on LSD and shrooms as the wine or alcohol has no effects (hard alcohol does!)

I remember taking shrooms, (small ammounts not space trucking) and we all learned to play the didjradoo, watched shooting starts and talked about who among us ~Really was the antichrist~ and then I remember every one thought I was homosexual and then I thought I was gay also for a good 3 hours.

But thats good clean fun, dont abuse LSD unless your in a safe area even then bad things can go wrong, DOnt trip in the dead of winter if its cold, You wont know and can get hurt.

I once took 3 hits of liquid then hits every few hours for total of 12 hits but its not the same as 4 hits all at once, megga tripping.
We ALL could see UFOS and it was a great time. Dont forget to drink pleanty of liquids if your triping in the sun or day.

A great shroom trip was a small ammount, ( was high as a kite) and I went camping and then just went in the forest alone. I sat still for hours and communed with the dead, communed with the forest critters. super mellow. what you describe is a bad trip.
Its best that you had the trip though.

Don't trip with jerk offs! They ruin it and bring down cops, walk around naked and get hurt. I had some friends and they all tripped and one of the guys went to the emergency room because he thought his parrents were posessed. So my friends they all received felonies, so moderation is best as the consequences are quite high.

I need step by step directions on how to make a bench cushion for my kitchen table.?

Q. I bought an Ikea kitchen bench and I would like to make a cushion for it. I have a vague idea how to do it - and the supplies I'll need, but I think I should have some step by step instructions just in case.

Is it as simple as plywood, spray adhesive, foam, and fabric??

Answer
You seem to be on the right track. You did not say if the top if the bench is finished. I am assuming that it is not.

You can adhere the foam to the plywood, but it is not necessary as the fabric will hold the foam into place.

1. Place fabric face down on a clean surface.
2. Place a layer of polyester batting down on the fabric.
3. Place foam cushion top of the batting.
4. Place the plywood over the foam.
5. Smooth the batting over the foam and plywood. Staple one side of the batting, Mitre the corners of the foam so that it is not bulky. (You may need to trim some of the batting. Staple the opposite side, then finish the remaining sides.
6. I like to sew the corners of the fabric for a finished edge, but you can carefully fold the corners of the fabric, (like a gift) and staple the fabric in the same manner as the batting.

You can then screw the bench to the bottom of the plywood.

YOU ARE DONE!

If the cushion in loose, the easiest way to do this is to sew the fabric on three sides and 1/3 of the way on each end of the remaining side. (Making a pillow case type cover.) Then turn the cover inside out. Take each corner and form a triangle from the flattened sides of the corners. Sew a seam on each corner the depth of the cushion. This gives a nice finished look. Turn inside - out. Then stuff cover with pillow and then hand sew the remaining portion of the seam.

leather kitchen corner unit?

A leather bench and table with optional (2 leather side chairs) to eat at. Sits in the corner of kitchen.

Answer
It depends. It depends on the color, the size and the time. It may not look as good in the winter as it would in the summer and it would be a pain moving the chairs back and forth if you wanted to switch off!

Iâm looking to put my TV, games console etc. onto it to save space in my extremely small bedroom. It will be push up against a wall but over my bed. The bed is very low on the floor (about 3 inches gap between the floor and bed). If it helps my theme is red, pine, white, light grey. Thank you ^.^

Answer
You could find a console table that is big enough for that they are narrow and built of the ground. Console tables work for any room and add a sense of style from entry room to bedrooms.

ideas about making tables out of random things?

Q. recently i saw a coffee table made out of old pallets and i was wanting to make a coffee table out of something you wouldnt normally see..Im looking for a colorful/modern type of look! Any ideas??

Answer
Yes, I full agree that you can make tables using old pallets. Old pallets and be used for many things.
We have three medium sized tables on our rap around deck out side that husband made from wood he collected from different places when we still had our out-door wood burner. I'd see a piece of wood that I knew had potential for a table and the work began. We have been using them for at least five years now. Simply made, but very durable. Just the thing needed for end tables for an out door deck. I like the the rustic look anyway so they fit in great for there use. Husband also made a table and small simple benches to use around our fire pit.

You are saying that you're looking for something that is colorful and modern looking. Any wood can be painting, but I don't know about the moder look when talking pallets.

Have you considered using a large foot rest that you can use for both foot rest and coffee table. This kind of thing is used all the time. You get two for the price of one. I always liked the idea, but it just wouldn't work with my house, but could with yours. Something to consider. Perhaps you could go hunting to second hand stores for a medal framed table on the modern side. Even if you would have to replace the glass it still might be worth purchasing with the frame is cheap enough to re-due.

Get out there a hunt second hand shops, rummage sales, even Goodwill stores. You never know what you can find at half or less the price than new. Bring in home and begin your project. Always be sure before you buy. You don't want to wind up with three different things that you decide you can't use. Get a picture in you mind of what you looking for. It's out there waiting for you. I've re-done and old cart on wheels for use in my kitchen. I'm sure you can find something to use for a coffee table. After you re-do it, now you can call it your own, and it's brand new again. It's fun to see something old come to life again. Good luck.

Experienced Mums, advice on toddler table please?

Q. Hi there,

I'm wanting to buy my 16 month old his first table and chairs. There are just soooo many to choose from! So I'm wondering your thoughts on what's good and bad eg

Round table vs square

Wood vs plastic

Bench style / picnic table or individual chairs (with backs or just stools?)

Are the ones with the built in bowl in the middle useful (to put crayons etc in)

Did u get one with drawers or not?

Anything to add that's helpful much appreciated!

PS - I'm in Australia

Thank you!

Answer
I like the square tables- they're easier to put in an out of the way corner!
Wooden ones look nicer, but the plastic ones do less damage to rough and tumble kids who run into them.
Individual chairs, I prefer backs but my son doesn't care.
I haven't purchased one with the built in bowl so I can't really say how good that is!
The ones we have don't have drawers (yes we have several!)
My mum has the Ikea Mammut table and stools for her place, my son really likes them. http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/30176644
http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/90169532
At our place we have a square plastic table chairs that my MIL picked up from cheapie shop, my son loves that he can drag them all over the house. We also have a metal set purchased from a garden shop for outside use. We are looking at buying the Lego table for him too- he has a HUGE collection of Lego from his fathers childhood, plus hand me down Lego from his cousins.
