Q. We want to get married when he is done with his training but I have no idea where to start and without being able to talk to him regularly Im not sure what to do. Can anyone give me some advice on how to get things rolling?
Answer
Congratulations!
Right, it's supposed to be a joint thing, but I can sympathise with your situation.
The basic things you will need are
a venue for the ceremony
Someone to marry you
a venue for the reception
a caterer for the reception
Then you personally will probably want a dress, veil, shoes, makeup, tights, bridesmaids, bridesmaid shoes, bridesmaids dresses, transport to the venue...
He will need a suit, best man best man suit, ushers ushers suits.
Other things you will probably need are invites, flowers, rings, orders of service, hymns/songs/music, readings, photographers, place card settings for the reception, disco for reception, favours for the table and a wedding list.
That is just off the top of my head.
What you can do if you dont want to make decisions while he is away.. if do the ground work.
Research local venues, how much they cost, what deposit they want, if they include food..
Research dresses and local dress shops
Think about ushers and bridesmaids..page boys and flower girls
Research photographers, how much they charge
Invite printers
Hairdressers..etc..
Ask about, see if people have recommendations..
See if you and your fiance can set a date and a budget and then that will make it easier for you to identify posibilities.
Most guys dont really want ot be involved in too much of the detials and think that girls enjoy the planning bit. You could split the planning so that you for example plan the music for the service, and he plans the disco (as ths can be done close to the date if you have a dj..
I hope that helps.
Also you can use online wedding planners like http://www.weddingpath.co.uk/ to help you stay in touch and up to date.
I hope that helps.
Dont get too stressed and enjoy!

Help on finding ottomans?

Josie H
Me and my boyfriend and remodeling the apartment and we are looking for some low dining seating but not as low as pillows on the ground. We are planning to do a low dining table/high coffee table as our dining room table with some comfy ottomans around as the seats. We're looking for affordable but COMFORTABLE ottomans. Can anyone point us in the right direction?
