This Babe

Few months ago I bought all this seeds to start my little garden. Everything was going good, i always check them & water them, feed them. So the plants where getting big, & I bought more pots ,now there are lots of plants & sunflowers. I have a problem, I own 2 large labradors & they love to digg everything. So I kind of lost few plants cuz they dug them out and broke them. So I decided to build a big 4 feet tall table. So they wont reach my plants. After I builded my table everything was good till'
One day I was watering them & this huge cockroach came out a pot & I got scared & then I wondered & thought he probrably just passed by or fell off the roof, then like 5 days later this little wood color frog jumped out a pot & I was like " how did this little quarter size frog get up here?". So now I'm getting grossed out because I planted few vegetables, fruits. That I will be eating in the future but I don't want to put nothing on my mouth that I know little creatures were touching & wondering on. So if anyone that know about some type of liquid or anything that scares little insects, frogs, cockroaches away from my plants & it doesnt kill the plant, please share it with me I will be more thankful if you did. Just type the name on the bottom & I'll search it from there. Thank you. God Bless.

Answer
You can pick up a basic garden insecticide from a hardware store, like lowe's or home depot, and even places like walmart and target have them. If you want to try a more natural approach you wash your plants twice a day by tilting your pot over, so anything on it will fall off, for a week. That is not usually enough for outdoor gardens though so you can mix 1 Liter of water with 1 tblsp of soap and 1 tsp of oil and put it into a spray bottle. Spray it twice a day for 10 days and be sure to rinse the plant off after. The mixture will cause insects to desiccate and the oil will clog their spiracles and cause asphyxiation in the pests.

Store bough insecticides are the most reliable, but the water-soap-oil mix can sometimes be all you need, and will expose your food to less residues.

Inexpensive ways to decorate my outdoor patio please?

Q. I live in a second floor apartment and don't spend much time outside on my patio, but I would love for it to look half way decent, what would you suggest for a working girl with a budget? Plant recommendations that ward off bees, wasps and bugs in general would be a plus! Thank you and happy Summer time to you!

Answer
You can get a bistro set - table and two chairs for around $100 at most stores or online. You can also get a gas grill for around $100 if that's something you would use. Plants look nice. You can buy flower pots pre-planted at home improvement stores or target/wal-mart. I am working on the same thing for my lonely patio.
