Are there any hard shell camping trailers that can be pulled by your average 6 cylinder sedan?

Doesn't have to be big, but something that isn't one of those pop up tent trailers.

When I was a boy, my dad took us camping often using a small trailer that slept 4, had a sink, icebox, stove top and 4 person table and benches. The whole thing was probably no more than 14' long. He usually pulled it behind some sedan his company issued him at the time, and we seemed to have no problem pulling it.

Do they still make anything like that?

Yes, there are. They aren't going to be big, your average 6 cylinder sedan is only rated for 1-2 thousand pounds towing. It's not the engine that's the problem. It's the frame of the car. Your Grandpa's six cylinder Rambler only has 130 HP, but it had a full steel frame. Your modern sedan doesn't.

Visit your local RV dealership and talk to them.

What is the length of a traditional A frame picnic table?

I need to buy a screen house for a camping trip and I'm wondering if anybody knows what the length of a standard park picnic table is (the A frame tables with attached benches that are as long as the table top is). Please help!

They are pretty much standard and are available in 6ft and 8ft lengths. They also measure 5.5 ft across, bench edge to bench edge. I have been to State Parks however that were a bit larger than 8ft. If you are going to a campsite, you can call ahead and they should be able to tell you the table sizes before you go. A 10'X10' screened in dining fly should cover any of the easily and still allow you room to get around in them. Happy Camping!
