camp wedding ideas. affordable and tasteful?

Katie

Answer
Masion jars are great for a camp wedding theme. You could surve drinks in them, use them as vases or you could put little tea light candles into them too.

When I think about camp ideas wood also comes to mind. Make wooden wedding signs or buy them online. Instead of using your traditional table cloths for the tables use sheets instead. They would look so wonderful on the table. You can custumize the sheets too buy sewing them to fit each table properly.

Someone suggested a campfire on here.Well why not have smores at your wedding reception? The kids would love it! You could also make printable coloring pages for the kids too. Or you could do a camp word search for the older kids.

Have your cater make food that you would normally have at camp. You can still make the food look elegant and taste good. If your getting married and having your reception at a camp then hang up lights in the reception hall. That would look so awesome at night. I also suggest you do a DIY photobooth. Why not get silly at your wedding reception? You could buy camp things like a hat, maybe a shirt or some silly masks that could guest could use for props for a DIY photobooth.

I am planning it for a camp where kids go who have or have had cancer and one of the nights there is a dance, and the theme is fairytale/fantasy. The dance will be outside, and the kids age range is 6-12 years old. Any ideas would be very helpful!

Thousands of tiny white (Christmas) lights everywhere. Fairies made of poster board, floating in trees spot-lighted with uplights: the bodies can be painted soft colors, the wings even lighter colors, cover them heavily with matching-color glitter. Yards and yards of netting, gauze, other very sheer fabrics hanging down, backlit with tiny lights. White, slightly-twisted crepe paper swags between buildings, trees, any tall upright item (lamp-post, basketball hoop), along any fences, and add tiny lights if possible. Use glass blocks (like those for shower windows) as table centerpieces: decorate with white Christmas balls, wired ribbons, figures, fairy wings, and insert battery-operated loops of Christmas lights inside the glass blocks. I Googled "fairy party theme" and a lot of sites came up. They're almost uniformly geared toward younger children, but this one has lots of ideas that could work with older children: http://www.birthdaypartyideas.com/html/fairy.html It has ideas from moms who created fairy parties, including dragonflies, butterflies, costumes for the kids, and ideas that will appeal to boys: "Magical Forest Party" is good. "Enchanted Forest 8yr" has a wonderful idea for a story that keeps kids moving from place to place to "hear"/carry out the story, which should enchant even your 12 year olds. I didn't click on all of them, or on all of the sites (many of which are trying to sell party supplies but could still give you ideas), but there's a lot of ideas to be found. Hope everyone has a blast!

Does anyone know an good riddles for kids?
