Remedy for stain in white laminated table?

Snoop

Hi all,

I stayed a hotel recently and beer/bourbon was spilt on the white laminated kitchen bench surface over night by accident and it has been absorbed into the bench. The hotel is now trying to make me pay for it, surely there are products that could clean such stains? Could the use of a cleaning product with bleach in it remove the stains?

If you do know of such products, please name them and the main type of chemical used in the cleaning product.

Thank you.

Answer
letting bleach soak into it just as the beer/bourbon did should fix it. Accidents happen and hotels are aware of that or they would offer you insurance like they do when you rent a car. Don't pay. Challenge the charge if they are billing your credit card.

HELP, I can't open my beer! :(?

Q. I'm about 5 feet tall and I only weigh 90 pounds and I have no muscle whatsoever. I don't have a bottle opener or a lighter, I'm not using my teeth, but I've tried opening it on the table and I don't think I'm strong enough to get it to open. xD Help because I really want this tonight.
not funny!! :(
OMG i just opened it! :D thanks everyone

Answer
tilt your cap on the side of the bench and hit the top:)

I am going to be visiting Salzburg and I would like to eat german, austrian traditional food... Does anyone have any ideas?or great places to eat in Salzburg in general?

Answer
Siftskeller St. Peter- St Peter Bezirk 1 - 4 http://www.haslauer.at/

Apple strudel, of course, but also the famous Salzburger Nockerln, Marillenknoedel - a sort of apricot dumplings, mousse au chocolat and much more.
It's not too expensive and you get a whole plate full of food, not just a tiny dumpling in the middle.
There are several rooms in the restaurant, also a beergarden

Cafe Konditorei Peter Lohe - Elisabethstrasse 1/B Great coffee and cake

Cafe Costa - Bergstrasse 18 www.cafe-costa.at It's worth to pay attention to the notice showing the specials of the day: during the week, they have main dish + sweet for 5.50 euros and on Sundays there is a special dish for 4.5 (without dessert).

Alter Fuchs. Linzergasse 47-49 5020 Salzburg
The table service was efficient and friendly and cheerful. The food was great: a great mix of local and Austrian dishes, the Vienner Schnitzel was so good the first night that I ordered it again when we went back the second time.

ARGE Kultur Mühlbacherhofweg 5 A-5020 Salzburg
Austrian cuisine, vegetarian cuisine; nice garden; suitable for wheelchair users.

Gablerbräu Linzergasse 9
Hotel/Restaurant in an old Patrician house in the New Town, Linzer Gasse. The walls are decorated with frescos and you can also see some stained glass windows. The benches/chairs/tables are made of dark wood.

Attentive, competent staff. Hearty Austrian food. I had dinner there two nights and would go back anytime. Their dark beer is a specialty - yummy.

They serve excellent steaks and schnitzel (11-13 Euro) with baked potatoes. Marillen Palatschinken (apricot pancakes) for dessert were delicious.

Enjoy!

what are the three best coffeeshops in Amsterdam?

Doctor Kic

I'm going to Amsterdam for 3 days, and I was thinking of going to a different coffeshop each day. Which three should I go to and what makes them better than the rest?

Answer
I go to Amsterdam often.

My favourite coffeshop is the 420 (also called de Kuil). It's on Oudebrugsteeg 27, which is the second alley on the right as you walk from central station towards Dam square along Damrak.

It's one of the few that sells both weed and beer. It also plays excellent classic rock.

Starting in Januray, a new law will require all places that sell both to select only one or the other, so that won't last long.

Other favorites are Kadinsky's (several locations), Freeworld Internet cafe (smoke and type and drink beer all simultaneously), The Smokey (Rembrandtsplein; already split into two shops for beer and weed; pool tables-- but don't smoke while shooting or you'll get yelled at).

When you want to sit for a great beer, try Cafe Belgique
http://www.xs4all.nl/~phj/location.html

It has a couple of benches outside in the alley and great Belgian beers. But remember that smoking weed outside of a coffeeshop is frowned upon (not legal but no serious consequence other than shame).

Basically we want to know what you have in your house that you really like. We're not really wondering about furniture but to give you an idea we were thinking of grabbing a bench press and a foosball table (which we would add plexiglass over to make foosball + beer pong table) maybe a computer to act as a server Thanks for all your ideas!

Answer
I live in a house with 3 roommates and were all 23. We have 4 computers plus 1 computer for guest use and an expensive wireless router so we can all game at the same time. 2 foldable beer pong tables we keep behind our couch in the living room. A dart board in the corner our living room. A Wii setup on an extra tv on the side of the living room for party use and a 360 set up on the main tv for Rockband 2 and Guitar hero because I'm addicted to it and for some wierd reasons girls always seem to be interested in it. We have a ping pong table, a couple couches and 2 mini frigdes set up in our garage as an extra party spot for people who want to smoke or just not be in the main part of the house. The only thing were missing that I really want is a pool table.

Of course, our house is basically set up for parties now since we have them pretty often. Under normal circumstances I dont think we'd have 2 tvs and a dart board in our living room lol.

Where to go while in Cincinnati?

Building R

I will be traveling with my girlfriend to Cincinnati for a Bengals game. We are planning on staying Sunday night and doing some sight seeing Monday. Does anyone have any suggestions about must see places in Cincinnati area. I was interested in doing some gambling while there as well. Point me in the direction of the best or most popular Casino/Other attractions would be mcuh appreciated. Places to eat are also welcome.

Answer
Take a boat ride down the Ohio River. There are many options for boat rides up and down the Ohio River. www.allstarchartersandtours.com is a great site for booking a boat trip. The weekend after Thanksgiving is a popular time for locals to take a boat trip, so book in advance if you are visiting g Cincinnati at this time.

Eat at Buskens. Buskens is Cincinnati's local bakery. They make everything from donuts to fresh baked bread. They even make those little hotdog buns for conies. Buskens main store is located in Hyde Park, about 3 miles north of downtown. They have locations throughout Cincinnati and the surrounding areas. You can contact their downtown store at 513-421-8869. They serve up a great cup of coffee and there is almost always a line in the morning for their sugary confections.

Eat at Montgomery Inn Ribs. These Cincinnati ribs are famous throughout the word. From the minute I found out I was going to have to love there everyone kept barraging me to eat there. Happily I was not disappointed. You can order these ribs online as well at www.montgomeryinn.com.

Visit Hofbrauhaus House. This copy of the German original actually a few feet outside of the City of Cincinnati limits, but is still deemed a local Cincinnati favorite. Huge long wooden tables support locals and tourists alike as they swill down beer out of mugs bigger than their head, the brew some of their own beer and it is fabulous. The food is a combination of bar food and German inspired favorites. Hofbrauhaus Newport is located at Third & Saratoga Streets, Newport, KY 41071.

Eat some Graeter's ice cream. You just can't go to Cincinnati without eating a little Grater's. They make their ice ream the old fashioned way, slow churned, with very little air. This makes a dense ice cream that is creamy beyond compare. Their biggest seller is the raspberry chocolate chip. Stores are located throughout the Cincinnati area, but the most charming store is located on Hyde Park Square. Families gather around park benches outside Grater's door and eat their ice cream all year long. Visit them online at www.graeters.com for store locations.
