Beach wedding cake ideas?

luv bunny

I need help i have been looking and i like this one

http://www.wedding-flowers-and-reception-ideas.com/images/beach-wedding-cake01.jpg

four tier

any ideas
thx yea the bottom part is going to be blue

Answer
It's very theme-like for a sea themed wedding... I would rather have the brown parts blue to symbolize the water because it doesn't seem pretty enough to me... but then you can always have beach sand sitting on the table under the cake. ... it just seems that the brown next to the seahorse doesn't translate well because the seahorse never comes out of the water, if you know what I mean.
i hope that makes sense to you and that I explained my thoughts well enough.

Tropical themed wedding?

<3

if you can give me some original ideas for a tropical wedding theme, send me links to pix or just ideas, thank you!

Answer
There are tons of things you can do. Dinner music or C.Hour can be reggae/beach theme. Don't over do it. Center pieces can be filled with sand and shells. Umbrella sticks in drinks. Have a tropical drink fountain as opposed to a choc. one.

Bridal party can be in Hawaiian shirts and kacki's. Hawaiian leis on each chair. Give away centerpieces to whom ever has a "yellow" leigh on their chair.

Tables could have the large umbrella on them, you may have to rent them yourself.

Have the girls all wear beach sandals.
Are you getting the idea.

Could really use opinions on beach themed wedding?

yep deff

My sister is having a beached themed wedding and I am her maid of honor. I would like to really help her out there is a really tight budget being that she has a 4 month old son. I really need ideas on party favors and also centerpieces. The wedding will be on the beach and the reception under a pavilion. Any ideas on really cheap and easy centerpieces and party favor ideas? I would be VERY greatful!!!

Answer
Think sand, water, thin wispy fabrics like tuile, silks, and silky polyesters. Favors could include candles that smell like "ocean", "sea mist", or "fresh linen". Or you could do picture frames, or candle holders, votives, etc. check this link: http://weddingshop.theknot.com/weddingwarehouse/SubCategory.aspx?scId=Unique%20Favors(KnotShop)&sscId=BeachFavors(KnotShop)&cId=Favors(KnotShop)

You might be able to re-create many of those ideas on your own. Since summer is coming, check the clearance sections of target, Michael's craft stores, Jo-Ann's Crafts etc.

For centerpieces, get sand!!! That's going to make your life easier and you can cary the "beach" indoors! If you can afford flowers, try a wide, shallow bowl filled with sand. Cut Gerbera daisies really short and burying the stems into the sand. then Place tea lights or votives around the flower tops in the sand. The if the flowers are real, they won't last more than for the night but of they are fake, they will last forever. Or try this...
a few days before the wedding, prepare the sand in shallow wide bowls. Mist the sand down with a spray bottle to get the sand wet enough to write in or leave an imprint. Then with a stick, write the couples initials or name with the wedding date or whatever you want. Leave in a dry place with little to no wind so that the sand will dry out and slightly harden. Then on the wedding day, their love will be "written in the sand"! Use candles for extra effect. If you do this, you will need to think about transportation so use lightweight, maybe even clear plastic bowls. Also, sand gets heavy so if you have a lot of tables or use too much sand, it could be heavy.

Good luck!

Has anyone ever planned a beach themed backyard wedding?

I need ideas on a beach themed backyard wedding.

Answer
Never actually planned one. But I have been to one! It was really pretty. They got shells from the local dollar or discount store and put them on the tables for decoration. They also wore sandals and shorts. All of the guest wore white shirts with khaki shorts. The Bride wore a really pretty blue dress. She was the only one that was different. They also got a net and hung it behind the officiant and put little shells all over it. They also got blue flowers for the tables.

I have some sand and small sea shells. What can I do to make them into a surprise present for my fiance'?

Salathia

I have a bag of some sand and another bag with small seashells. Me and my fiance' are having a beach themed wedding so I figured it would be nice if I made something for him with it. Problem is, I don't know what to do with them. I need some good ideas. Please and thank you.

Answer
Wind Chime, or get a shadow box and put the sand and shells in that. You could also make a table stand with them. Just have one with a box-like top fill it with the sand and shells then put a glass top on it. You could write him a small note on the back of the shells and give one to him each day. Buy him a bottle for him to fill up with them.

How can I make a homemade sandcastle as a centerpiece for tables?

I am having a beach themed wedding reception and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what I can use to make sandcastle centerpieces for the tables.

Answer
I'd make it out of an air dry clay, like Model Magic, or if you want to do a castle with squared corners, make it out of foam core and low melt hot glue (for strength), then paint it with glue and press sand onto it. If you actually make it from sand, your chances that it will survive the reception are slim to none, and it will weigh about ten pounds. You can also do round towers out of mailing tubes....or go to Michaels and ask the frame shop manager for the discarded cores of the kraft paper they use for the backs of pictures. The foam core/cardboard tube is the most cost effective, if you are on a budget...and if you are NOT on a budget, contact me and I'LL make them for you! lol

If you email me, I'll send you pics of a castle we did for a summer camp project. Type in Sandcastle as the subject.

I think the theme sounds great! Good luck!

Can anyone help with our wedding theme?

We are planning to have our wedding on the beach, or outside in general. But we don't want a beach themed wedding. We have been trying to find ideas where we can use top hats and canes, with a gothic feel. We were thinking maybe victorian or 1920s. Any theme idea would help. Our wedding colors are black, red, purple, sliver if that helps anyone.

Answer
I would do a Victorian themed garden wedding at an old Victorian manor house, castle, or inn. This would more fit top hats and canes than a wedding at the beach.

Want to add some true authenticity to your Victorian wedding? Have the celebrations in the morning - before 1880, couples were required by law to hold their nuptuals before noon.

Everything about the Victorian wedding is lush with elegance. Black, white, and silver will work very well, and maybe red roses all over.

For a mental image, think of those beautiful pictures that are all black and white, often showing a little boy pecking a little girl on the cheek, with flowers behind his back. The clothing is very formal, lots of lace, top hats and gloves.

Victorian Wedding Flower Selections:

Brides were very careful in choosing their flowers for their weddings. They chose flowers with specific meanings. Some of the popular flowers were: roses (check meanings for each color), lilies, gardenias, stephanotis sprigs, pansies, hyacinths, baby's breath and orange blossoms. Bouquets were small nosegays (tussie mussies), which are small, plump bouquets of flowers.

Table Decor and Centerpieces

Set up tables so they are cozy and personal, no more than 6 people per table (use round tables).

Use linen napkins with decorated wooden napkin holders at each setting.

Fill a galvanized watering can with fresh summer flowers as a centerpiece.

Scatter rose petals around table.

Looking for help putting together a waterfall theme wedding?

beach themed wedding tables on sunflower blue wedding cake burgundy and white orchid wedding invites ...

Lacey

Hey all, so my fiancée proposed to me at our favorite spot, a waterfall. So in light of that we have decided to do a waterfall theme wedding with blue silver and white. (The blue is the blue in a peacock feather) Now I am finding a lot in beach, but no thank you. I want waterfall. And I am planning on DIYing my wedding so that's not a problem. Would just like any tips, or site suggestions, you could give. Thank you so much!!

Answer
The best solution would be to have a wedding at a waterfall. If that isn't a possibility, you might add specific touches that are keeping with the theme. That sounds like what you want. But you may have to get creative on this, which you've probably discovered. (Like you said, for a beach theme, you can always bring in sand and sea shells, but you can't actually carry a waterfall.)

Turn your venue into a art piece that is reminiscent of a waterfall. Plenty of greenery and stones might help with the setting. Maybe a table-top waterfall fountain on the guest book table or at the entrance to help set the stage for the theme. http://www.shopping.com/Alpine-Alpine-WIN218-Tabletop-Waterfall-Fountain/prices

cascading blue flowers in your arrangements

Reception: White table clothes with a blue table runner that is curved a bit and allowed to hang off the tables on both sides. (Wish I could draw a picture of this.)

Bride's cake is white with a blue cascade of flowers down one side. http://amandascakes.files.wordpress.com/2010/11/aj117.jpg
or this golf themed cake without the golf http://media.cakecentral.com/gallery/631023/1286721830.jpg

or you could even do in white, but with a touch of waterfall http://palermobakery.com/wp-content/uploads/Pwc-10016a.jpg (elegant, but the waterfall theme is still very much there)

If any of these cakes are workable, then go from there with your decor. For example, if you use the cake with the white waterfall, you can use white table runners that are curved on top of the tables and allowed to fall off the sides of the white table cloth.

It wouldn't SCREAM waterfall, but the effect could be stunning.

napkins match the table runners, if possible
exotic flowers

sounds like fun.....enjoy planning

I am having a tiffany blue chocolate brown and ivory wedding I need ideas for table decoratios and favors?

Dreamer

anyone has any suggestions it would be wonderful on centerpieces and favors and the theme is beach thank you

Answer
We attended a beach-themed wedding this past may and the center pieces were small vases filled with 'beach sand' and shells or water and floating flowers/candles. Some center pieces were 1 of the above, some were smaller groups of the above. VERY classy. Check into your local dollar store for vases/fish bowls on the 'cheap' side and you can get sand at your local craft store or see if anyone has any they are willing to give you by posting an ad on Craigslist.com (in your local area) for Freecycle.org.

Good luck.
