I want to something a bit more different then the usual folded up in line cards with everyones name and table numbers. I want it to be creative but not expensive.

Answer
It would help to give you ideas if we knew what kind of theme or setting you are having at the event.

For example, for a beach wedding, you could paint everyone's name on a shell at their place setting.

For a formal wedding, you could have people's names embroidered or screen printed on their napkin.

You could put a tiny pot of flowers with each guests names painted on it at each place setting.

There are lots of things you can do if you think outside the box.

Whats a fun beachy way of doing table numbers?

The centerpieces have not been picked yet, table clothes are light blue, the wedding is just causal and everythings happen at the beach so thats the only theme type thing to it.

Not sure how hard or labor intensive it might be, but it would be so cute to make small sand castles, and then have a little "flag" with the number.

Does the venue usually provide table numbers, or do I have to make them myself? Am I supposed to come up with some sort of holders for them, or buy picture frames to put them in? Any ideas?
Thank you!

Answer
Call your venue and ask the events/wedding coordinator.

Our venue provided table number holders, but I made our own table numbers using a Brides kit that matched our invitations and name cards.

You could use picture frames, picture holders (the wire type stands), or google your wedding's theme (if you have one) and see if you can find something to match. IE, our theme was beach and I found starfish and beach chairs....but ultimately decided on just the simple ones to save money.

I definitely recommend trying to find them on eBay over buying them in the store! Good luck!!

What are fun ideas for a 16th birthday party?

Zoe

I am helping my friend plan her 16th birthday party! She wants to do something special (unlike what I did) for her winter birthday.

a) What are some fun ideas? (Remember: winter birthday, no swimming or beach)
b) Is it better to go bigger (lots of friends) or smaller (fewer friends)?
c) What is a good gift I could get her?

All ideas are welcome!

Answer
a) A movie theater theme; have a table w/popcorn, and pretezels, and candy, and nachos!
b)If it's a party, bigger. If it's a slumber party, smaller and an even number. girls tend to have drama, the more girls, the more drama. then they split off into groups. even numbers keep all girls involved in something. No girl that is left out.
c) I'd say make-up is she's girlie. A skatebard if he's tomboyish. If all else fails and you can't decide, just give her 20 dollars. She'll buy what she wants.
