Autumn decoration suggestions?

Crazybird

Over the past year, we've decorated our apartment pretty beach-themed. Now that it's autumn (my favorite time of year), I'd like to add some autumn-y decorations, without horribly clashing with the bright blues and greens and artwork that's pictures of the beach and palm trees. I have a ton of decorations (little stuffed pumpkins, table cloths in oranges reds and yellows, leaf table runners ect...) Any suggestions on how to add those decorations in would be much appriciated!

The colors blend very well!

Use the colors in candles, throws and decorations

Brown rocks can be thrown in with a little orange pumpkin and tie an orange or auburn ribbon around a blue or white candle.

the artwork unfortunately will have to stay, but to avert eyes off of it, put a small table on the wall underneath if if you can, and make it an autum focal point with pumpkind, leaves and candles on a nice opaque plate

Add shimmer to help blend in the pillows and ribbons by using golden, orange or silver toned ribbon or pillows.

Incorporate natural wood and rustic textures to give a beachy feel as well, use a dark wooden bowl or plate to place your pumpkins, seashells and candles on.

Make a beach themed wreath using starfish, seagrass and fall colored leaves and acorns

fill an old seashell with orange spice scented candle wax

I do not really want a lot of money to be spent on decorations because I know the food is going to take up a fair amount. However, I enjoy decorating. I was thinking of different ways to use fake petals as decorations and mason jars. My colors are a bold yellow and darker blue like royal blue. Thank you for any suggestions.

Answer
I bought my bouquet from a florist but bought flowers to decorate the reception space from the grocery store because that was cheaper. I had a beach wedding so I filled mason jars with sand and put a tea light in them. You could do something similar and replace the sand with pebbles or marbles. I also used small metal heart confetti on the tables. U can buy it at the craft store. You could also use regular confetti which is pretty cheap. I found paper lanterns at a five dollars and below store. Depending on when your wedding is, you could decorate with wildflowers and foliage from outside. I also had a sheet cake from the grocery store as the wedding cake. It wasn't traditional but it tasted awesome and was only $75. Hope that gives you some ideas!

What would be good decor for a beach themed room?

cat & lamb

Anything: paint color, bed spreads, lighting, wall decoration, ect.

Answer
I think that a nice, sandy beige on the walls would be nice. Add pale blue accents with pillows and stuff. Shells and polished rocks are good decorative items(put them on picture frames maybe.) polished glass is nice mosaicced on a bedside table. White is another good color to add as a beach room in usually very light and airy feeling. I like round mirrors too, I guess they remind us of portholes in shipe. Beach towels are usually striped and could even be used as the material to make pillows. The possibilities are endless. good luck.

Where do i get good favors for a wedding?

I am looking to decorate my wedding in seashell and dolphin decorations. I want all the center pieces to be decorated with a glass full of sand and seashells and then a candle in the middle. I am having trouble because i want 2 dolphins jumping out of it but i cant find anything. I was thinking of chocolate dolphins jumping out and then people can take that home as a favor but i cant find anything like that. Does anyone have any suggestions of what i could do??

Answer
Oriental trade center has a variety of beach themed party decorations. I love the idea for the centerpieces! If you were to place the glasses of sand and seashells on a mirror that would look awesome too. Depending on the formality there are some cute mini pails you could put the sand and seashells in too. Here are some suggestions for products in order to get those centerpieces!

my walls are like an ocean kind of relaxing blue and i have beige carpet. and the trim is off white, what color bed covers should i get, and curtains? and other decorations? what are some good colors? also, the room is kind of small, i want to feel bigger. oh, and the furniture is wooden, kind of liiike an orangey wood, but not actually orange. thanksss.

Answer
I see several options here with the first being a beach theme. The blue walls would represent the sun or water while the beige carpet would represent the sand. The white trim adds a nice crisp contrast. Look for a striped bedding set with ALL of these colors and possibly a teal/turquoise. Use a darker blue for the curtains along with a white pull down shade. Add decorative pillows in all of these colors. Simply candle arrangements can be made using a piece of driftwood. Drill holes into it just deep enough to accommodate tealight candles. Another option is to find a nice sized clear cylindrical glass vase. Add sand or sea shells and a pillar candle.

Another option is a spa retreat. Add browns and creams to create this look. Plain colored bedding in either a darker shade of blue or a medium shade of brown along with striped curtains. Look for a large landscape print for the wall. A small table top water feature/fountain would be a soothing addition to the room.

Anybody ever had a small wedding ceremony on a beach?

My girlfriend is from Romania. She will be coming back to the states to be with me and we are planning on getting married. She always talks about the beach and everything. So, I thought maybe we could just go to the local county clerk to get the license, then drive down to the beach and get married. Her family of course is in Romania, so there really won't be anyone from her side of the family, so we are probably going to keep it pretty small. Then maybe after we are married we can travel to Romania and show her family. Any ideas or tips about beach weddings? Thanks.

Answer
A girlfriend of mine had a beach wedding not so long ago, and let me tell you it was an interesting event! It was very simple- minister along with parents on each side and an additional witness on each side. I suppose these would have been considered a 'bridesmaid' and a groomsman had it been a larger affair.

Consider the tide! Especially if you're going to have any 'permanent' fixtures set up for your wedding ceremony. Many people don't consider things like tide and weather, especially if their party is small and casual. Are you having your reception on the beach too? That'd be awesome- maybe a bonfire. My girlfriend and her groom had a large dining table set up, and it was all decked out for this incredible reception dinner. She used this company she found online for many of her wedding decorations, and she had the cutest favors (great beach-themed stuff!). I have the site...they have the best prices too!
