simple wedding centerpieces/table decor?

soon tobe

Have anyone ever seen the diamond table scatter/crystal gems on tables at weddings? Where they with candles? I am thinking of doing this and wanted to know if it was in good taste or does it look cheap and tacky? Thanks

Answer
This is what we're having for our centerpieces. We're using these candle sticks:

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/smiley_in_nyc/longstemmedglasscandleholders.jpg

I got them from DollarTree.com

And I'm scattering seashells and dried aqua flowers around them for our beach theme wedding. I'm sure you can use the diamonds instead.

I need help with centerpieces for my destination wedding~?

spadezgurl

We are going to key west to have out wedding. Usually traditonal weddings, one person takes home the centerpiece. Obviously with everyone flying in I doubt they would want the floral centerpiece. The wedding will be held outdoors, so it will be hot! I wanted some suggestions on different beach themed centerpieces, one idea I was thinking about was having a bowl with water and seashells and having floating candles and flowers, anyone have any other suggestions. Something simple but unique!
i love everyones suggestions so far, the rock candy is a great idea!!!

Answer
You could have various shapes and sizes of glass bowls filled with water, floating flowers and floating candles and/or glass bowls filled with sand, sea shells and a small pillar candle in the middle of each bowl (set up in the sand).

Or, you could get a little more creative and fill small square glass vases with sand and sea glass in your wedding colors or just blue and green to go with the beach theme with a small pillar candle in the middle. Or if you want a tasty centerpiece which could also serve as their favor, have the small square glass vases on each table filled with sand and then get the pretty rock candy on sticks and place them in the sand. You can order rock candy in any color you want to go with your wedding colors. Tie a small favor tag to the stick with a little message or even their name to double as a place card. The centerpieces would be colorful and they can take home a stick of rock candy as their favor.

Yes, most places WILL allow you to have glass, especially if it's vases, I see it done all the time. I don't think they're going to make your guests eat off of paper plates and drink out of styrofoam!

what can i use for centre pieces at a beach wedding?

i am getting marry soon and would like to get marry at the beach

Answer
Hi Ingrid! I have a niece who is getting married to a doctor colleague in June of this year at a beautiful Philippine Island called Bora (short for Boracay) where the white sand is so fine it's like treading on sugar. I can just imagine your excitement at this point as you plan out your special moment.

Being a florist of many years and having attended and organized many weddings, I think that the best focal point and centerpiece in your wedding should be the area/spot where you will take your marital vows.

Everyone's attention will be on you and your groom. I would suggest a gazebo-like area or an arch of beautiful, fresh flowers with your color motif (be it the color of your flowers or the ribbons and the decor that will go with it). A red carpet can lead to the altar with more flower stands along it's sides.

You didn't mention what time your wedding will be, but if it's timed in the late afternoon, the sunset at the background, the tides turning, the scenery around will be big plus factors. When the sun is down, the caterers can attend to the lighting of torches around the reception area to create some ambiance. A bonfire at a distance will also be good but someone has to monitor it so that young kids won't get too near it. If you are Asian, you might also consider having a pig on the spit cooking in the background or a roasted calf. In the open air, the fresh breeze and the wide expanse of the sea is already quite a big bonus.

If you think there is the possibility of rain, consider another option. Big canopies so that you do not get wet, Same with the guests.

The next place that will draw the attention of your guests will be your buffet table where you should put a massive centerpiece- a combination of flowers, fruits, with maybe a mini beach umbrella.

Of course, the table where you will put your wedding cake is also going to draw raves if you add some mini beach balls or cocktail umbrellas as decor aside from the usual flowers.

Your wedding giveaways should also have a beach motif.

I do hope you will have a great and memorable wedding at the beach!

How can I have a really nice but cheap wedding?

beach table centerpieces for weddings on Seashell Centerpieces will decorate your tables at your wedding and ...
beach table centerpieces for weddings image

katrina c

My wedding is in less than 5 months and I havent done a thing.I'm low on cash and need help on getting things cheap for my wedding. Does anyone know where I can go online to get really cheap deals on invitations, center pieces, decorations, anything and everything that goes into making a wedding?
I live in San Ramon, Ca.

Answer
I shoot a lot weddings that are on tight budgets, here are a few tips on how to have a budget wedding:

1. Guest list is always the first to weed out. If you have 150 guests, the food cost will be high, unless you have a great cook in the family that can prepare a lot food buffet style.

2. Go to Costco or any other place that carries flowers and do the centerpieces yourself. I had a bride do this and I never knew the difference. You can spend only a couple of hundred on the flowers including the bouquet if done correctly. Go to the Dollar store and find glass vases or dishes and you can work with that along with the flowers for the centerpieces. Dollar store has a lot of great ideas as well as Walmart.

3. Invitations: Go to Walmart, down their wedding aisle. You will find invitations for cheap. Grab a few of those and you can check this off your list.

4. Dress: A lot of Mom and Pop bridal stores have clearance wedding dresses that are perhaps yesterday's style. My sister n law got her dress for less than $500! It was a Cinderella style dress and was beautiful (her wedding was done for $5K...hall and everything with 70 guests)

5. DJ: grab your IPod or a CD that has the music you want for both ceremony and reception. Hook them up to some loud speakers or connect them to the speaker system of a house or hall and viola! you have music. I have a few brides that have done this.

6. Food: This is up to you. You can find a caterer that will give you a discount or you can have family members make a batch of food and serve it buffet style. Another thing that just came to mind is that have reception at a restaraunt with some close family and friends. I had a bride do this and it was beautiful, the restaurant decorated the table for her and everything. This would take care of location as well as food!

7. Photographer: You can do a couple of things here. You can hire a photographer for just the ceremony and the portraits and then for the reception have disposable cameras at the tables for candid shots. Another thing is to just bargain shop for photographers and see if you can get ceremony and reception covered for cheap. This is probably going to be your biggest purchase unless you go to Craigslist and find a student photographer.

8. Ceremony: Local park, Beach, or even reception location. I have shot them all. I had one wedding where she had 20 of her closest friends on the beach, no chairs, just stood around them while the officiant married them. Fifteen minutes later, they were finished. We did portraits and then off to her mother's house for the reception!

The above is just a few of many things that can help cut your bill down for your wedding day. I hope this helped you out. :)

details of a carribean theme for my wedding in kent please anybody know of co ordinators for themmed weddings ?

Answer
â»Garden Themed Wedding
You have two options here. Either you choose a public or a private garden to host your wedding reception or decorate any venue on a garden theme. Whichever you choose, add nature elements to your invitations and decor. Use potted plants, topiaries, arches, benches and fountains. Make little pathways leading to different areas of the reception. Wrought iron chairs, tables, gates, lamp posts, birdbaths and picket fences etc. will complete the picture. Summer Wedding Flowers will complement the decor. Include dishes made of fresh seasonal produce in the menu and choose a garden themed wedding cake like a tiered cake with the base of a fountain or cakes decorated with fresh flowers or berries. Potted plants or other natural products can be given as favors.
â»Beach Themed Wedding
Choose a public or a private beach for the wedding venue and get necessary permissions for using it for your wedding. Let your theme reflect on your invitations and stationery by adding sea elements and decorations on them. Decorations aren't going to cost a fortune as the beach itself will provide the setting. You can add special touches by using seashells in the table settings and centerpieces etc. Choose a beach-themed wedding cake to add to the theme. Add seafood to the menu and include some sea products as wedding favors.
â»Mid-Summer Wedding Theme
For this theme combining nature and old-world charm, choose an outdoor venue and have the ceremony under a flower-covered altar. Choose mid-summer motifs such as butterflies, vines or even fairies for your stationery. Use the brightest summer blooms for flowers for decorations and bouquets. Brides can use fresh flowers in their hair instead of other accessories. A summer-themed cake using fresh flowers or fruits, a light menu with lots of fresh fruits and cool drinks or ice-cream will complement the theme perfectly.
â»Victorian Wedding Theme
An old mansion or inn or even a garden is the perfect location for a Victorian themed wedding. Go in for formal invitations with engravings, scrolls or even sonnets added to it. Think antique and classic for the decor - delicate teacups, magnificent chandeliers etc. Old-fashioned roses for the bride's bouquet and other floral decorations will add to the whole effect. Classic attires, elegant white tiered wedding cake, Victorian music and favors wrapped in tulle or antique lace handkerchiefs will lend perfection to the theme.

Best wishes. <*-*>

Iberostar wedding coordinators will help you and guide you through any question you might have regarding the decoration, flower arrangements, table distribution - you just name it and everything will be arranged according to your individual taste and wishes.

Legal requirements

For the wedding ceremony or the renewal of the vows you need the following documents:

. Passports
. Birth Certificates with an "Apostille" attached

If you are a US Citizen, you need an "Apostille", which is a form of international certification. The "Apostil" is requested from the entity who registered births in the county or state you were born at (usually the Secretary of State or the Department of Health).

You will need to send your birth certificate to such entity, along with a letter stating that you are getting married in Mexico and that you need an Apostil. They will attach this "Apostil" to the birth certificate and will then return the documents to you.

In case you are a Canadian Citizen, you must get your birth certificates legalized by the Mexican Embassy or Consulate in Canada.

If you are British, you need to contact the Legalization Department of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

The Judge might keep the birth certificates, thus we recommend you to bring certified copies rather than the originals.

The birth certificates do not need to be translated into Spanish. In case the Judge requests to have a Spanish version, they will have to be translated in Mexico by an official local translator (at an extra charge).

. Copy of divorce decree (in case you are divorced)

. Tourist cards - which every foreigner obtains on the aircraft on the way down to Mexico.

Please note that the judge will NOT perform the legal ceremony if he does not receive all the necessary documents.

. Blood test - it has to be made at the hotel in Mexico and it costs 154 USD per couple (to be paid in cash to the doctor.

. 4 witnesses with their picture ID (passport or driver's license) and a copy of their tourist card, which they will receive on the airplane. In case you do not bring any witnesses, the hotel will provide them.

Important
The bride and groom and their witnesses have to be in Mexico for at least 4 working days before the wedding, to get all the necessary legal papers arranged.

The judge does NOT accept ceremonies for: Sundays, Easter week, the 1st and 2nd of November, the 24th and 25th of December and the 1st of January.

Please note that once you get the marital contract you have to inform your local authorities about the change of marital status and proceed to register your marriage.

Iberostar Paraiso Lindo hotel payment policy:

Iberostar does dot not require a deposit and we do not make any charges prior the wedding day, all the wedding charges will go onto the room account which you can settle during your stay. The hotel accepts credit cards (Master card, Visa & American Express â In Mexico we do not take Discovery CC) , travelers checks and cash.

Iberostar wedding packages include tax & service charge

Due to the high amount of weddings Iberostar Paraiso Lindo has, it is important to request the wedding date as soon as possible. Iberostar has a policy of having only one wedding per day, as Iberostar believe it should be your special day.

Prices and packages are subject to changes without previous notice

i need wedding ideas fors a summer wedding?

im getting married on 7-7-07.. i want to a beach theme.. but im on a budget.. i want help on how to make invitations or decorations..

Answer
Here are some sites to get you started:

http://www.beachweddinginvitations.biz/
http://www.favorideas.com/shopping/cat1/p0/index.htm
http://www.weddingthings.com/seashell_beach_wedding_favors.htm
http://www.americanbridal.com/beach-weddings.html
http://www.mybeachfavors.com/

Establish your beach theme from the start by sending your wedding invitations as messages in bottles. You can order bottles for less than $1 and fill them with invitations you print yourself on weathered-looking paper â think treasure map. Tear the edges, roll them up and put them in the bottles with a sprinkling of sand, tiny shells, or confetti. Specialty Bottle sells them online, and can also supply mailing boxes or tubes and bubble wrap. If you'd prefer to have your invitation in a bottle printed and assembled for you, Marketing in a Bottle will take care of it all for around $2 each.

Centerpieces:
Place white pillar candles in a bed of glossy river stones extending down the middle of the tables.

⢠Select glass cylinders slightly larger than your white pillar candles. Fill each cylinder about halfway with loose shell confetti (small sea shells). Nest a white pillar candle in the confetti.

⢠Pile white rugosa roses on a base of driftwood. Surround with white votives.

⢠Fill the bottom third of silver hurricane lamps with sea shell confetti. Crack the door so the shells appear to tumble out. Scatter pink or white rose petals over the shells.

⢠Place a large, tied bouquet of white daisies in a galvanized bucket or galvanized tub. Tie a border around the bucket with raffia or seaweed.

⢠Arrange hydrangeas in blues, purples and cream, and insert small starfish picks throughout.]

1) Buy some children's pail and shovel sets. Use these as your wedding centerpieces. You can fill them with fresh fruit or candies (lifesavers would be perfect). You could also fill them with sand and place several sea shells placed on top.

2) Buy large, pillar candles with sea shells embedded in the wax. Set the candles in a low, flat dish that contains a bed of sand.

3) Fill clear glass bowls with colored water. Layer the bottom with sea shells and "starfish" (fake of course). Float a candle on the top.

) Another beach theme wedding centerpiece idea would be to fill a bowl with water and tint it blue with food coloring. Buy some of those fake tropical fish you see in novelty stores. Float them in the water.

5) Last idea with the bowls Place colored sand in the bottom of the bowl (available at craft stores). Fill with water. Tint it a light blue if desired. Place a "castle" on the bottom of the bowl (you can find items such as this at any pet store that sells fish). Add a bit of fake seaweed for effect.

6) See if you can track down some lighthouses to use as wedding centerpieces. Perfect for a beach theme wedding. Check out your local hobby store.

7) Make seashell candles. Use large seashells and fill with melted beeswax. Insert a wick in the center and let set.

8) Create colored sand bottles. Get some unique shaped bottles and pour colored sand into them. You can make some very interesting designs using different colors of sand (which is available at craft stores). Insert a taper candle into the top of the bottle.
