What paint to use on an end table?

Jacki

my boyfriend wants me to paint the DUKE symbol on his end table and i was wondering if acrylic would be best for it? Its a wooden table and will obviously be used on a daily basis. there will be cups with moisture things like that on it... what should i use to keep it in tip top shape and wont run from moisture?

Answer
What a cool idea! I would use outdoor paint, because that is meant to be more water resistant. Have you thought about putting a Plexiglas piece over top you you can put hot plates and make it easier to clean? Just a thought :)

Can I use the outdoor furniture indoors?

Mesha

I am decorating my living room with a tropical theme (Palm trees, those little monkey guys with the hats and red coats). The walls are khaki, the vaulted ceiling is dark wook, fireplace mantle and built ins are dark wood. Will this outdoor set (with Red coushions) work inside? http://www.lazboyoutdoor.com/product.php?sku=WHT20096PCST

Answer
Bring outdoor pieces indoors and adapt them for use in your home décor. Old-time garden furniture and plant stands can be as charming and functional in the home as they are outside. Who said a bakerâs rack was just for the kitchen or dining area? Why not move it into a bedroom or another room in the house to use for displaying prized collections, plants, or books. Use end tables that are worn and weathered or are painted with a floral design. Consider putting a glass top over a garden bench and using it as a coffee table in the living room or den. Use metal patio chairs as kitchen table seating and spruce them up with floral pillows or chair pads. Even an old weathered picnic table and benches can be used for adding garden-style charm to your home. Make use of an old gate by implementing it as a headboard for a bed or as a partition in a room. For a lightweight option, hang a section of picket fence or garden trellis instead.
