And what made it a good deal? Was it the price? Thanks!

Answer
Trims and studs for sewing and decorating (my daughter does hand painted shirts, jeans)
MOSTLY items for my vintage trailer and for camping. The chairs I got were wonderful and it was free shipping. Got here in a wink of time (that's huge to me) and at least 15.00 UNDER all the prices I've found in stores and at Open Air markets for the same chairs. The aluminum roll up tables too- amazing

I need some ideas for decorating my balcony?

Ally Cat

Its not a big balcony at all, but its still big enough for a table, about 2-3 chairs, and a little more. Its right outside of my new bedroom, but its so plain jane right now and im hoping to spend a lot of time out there since its nice and relaxing. i live in fl and it faces the sunset in the morning and its absolutely a beautiful view. besides the table and chairs, what else could i put out there to make it a little more cute or relaxing? my bedroom is french country themed, so nothing japanese or any other thing that may not belong. So far my ideas is some kind of mini fountain to put as a center piece, so i can hear the water trickle when i go out there, and maybe even some flickering outdoor lights to trim the balcony fencing. any other ideas would be greatly appreciated!!! thanks so much
also, what kind of flowers could i put out there that seem very femine, or maybe even a little french looking? thanks!!!

A cute table and chairs is a must, you can find great outdoor furniture at Target or Lowes even:

A solar lamp so it glows romantically at night on top of the table:

Pansies do well in flower boxes and flower beds, they are very durable. Also think about planting herbs, great for cooking and they smell great. Rosemary is a very durable herb.

Decorative vintage inspired tin signs would be very cool hanging on the walls of your patio as well, people forget that art can be outside too!

** I had a fountain on my patio table and the batteries ran out every day from usage... so just keep that in mind. they are annoying.

Jen

I would like to have a small summer wedding (May 2010) with approx 30-40MAX people in south Florida. I am looking for ideas to have a small, inexpensive, yet intimate wedding ceremony. For some reason my fiance has said no to having the ceremony in a park. Any ideas? Also, if you know of any recommended officiants that will conduct a nondenominational ceremony that would be great as well.

Thanks!

Answer
I would have said ask someone to use their house or the beach thing too. Here are some ideas:

First regarding the park thing. I can understand that he maybe doens't want to set up folding tables with streamers and get hitched, but some parks have rec centers and hold wedding for a small fee. It is done professionally and you can have the ceremony outside and have use of the building for the reception or at least for the kitchen etc.

For the beach you can do it yourself or sometimes restaurants on the beachfront will do the same as above and arrange the chairs etc on the beach and then you move inside for the reception.

There are some small cruises that you can charter for weddings.

Also zoo's have wedding packages too for an unusual idea. They would section off a garden or something and give you use of a building.

You might be able to use a church for a fee - have use of the grounds not nec. the chapel and supply your own officiant.

I don't have specifics because I am on the west coast but if you are interested you can look up these types of venues online for you specific area.

(Please don't blast me people on the cost - I don't know this persons budget but she asked for suggestions)

What are some very cheap wedding decorating ideas?

Purplefan

I do not really want a lot of money to be spent on decorations because I know the food is going to take up a fair amount. However, I enjoy decorating. I was thinking of different ways to use fake petals as decorations and mason jars. My colors are a bold yellow and darker blue like royal blue. Thank you for any suggestions.

Answer
I bought my bouquet from a florist but bought flowers to decorate the reception space from the grocery store because that was cheaper. I had a beach wedding so I filled mason jars with sand and put a tea light in them. You could do something similar and replace the sand with pebbles or marbles. I also used small metal heart confetti on the tables. U can buy it at the craft store. You could also use regular confetti which is pretty cheap. I found paper lanterns at a five dollars and below store. Depending on when your wedding is, you could decorate with wildflowers and foliage from outside. I also had a sheet cake from the grocery store as the wedding cake. It wasn't traditional but it tasted awesome and was only $75. Hope that gives you some ideas!
