I need some advice on table linens and bridesmaids dresses?

Julia

I am having a beach ceremony and decided to rent one of the beach's picnic shelters to have a little party after wards. I will tell you my decorations and will ask the questions at the end. I bought already made white silk roses with green leaves tied with brown branches ( I thought it looked pretty since it would be outdoors and also guests could take them home). I will be putting them in clear hurricane vases for support and pout sand inside of them so everything could match. I will be hanging white silk roses around to make it a bit romantic. I decided to make candy out of sea shell molds( I have white and chocolate) and putting them in ivory organza bags on the table so guests can eat them. I also have clear candle votives with a shell label on them.
My guest book, flutes and cake cutter will be in ivory with white shells in them.

Here are my questions: (only serious answers please)

1.What color should I have my bridesmaid dresses in?

I'm still debating on what type of green I want. I dont know if she should wear a light blue or anyother color. I thought green because of the outdoors.

2. What color should my table covers be?
I thought of ivory (like the sand) and I had bought the white silk flowers and thought that it would be to much white)

Does this decor look ok? I am planning my wedding on a budget. I am not to fashion coordinated so I dont know what colors go with what.

Answer
1. Any type of light/pastel color. What's your favorite color? Light blue sounds good, a sage green would be nice too, but not as colorful.
2. The color of the bridesmaids dresses

What colour curtain and sofa should i get?

I am moving into a house that has light blue wall colour. I was wondering what colour to choose for the curtains and the sofa. Please note the living room is small and the coffee table is mahogany.

Answer
When it comes to decor, I like to take cues from nature. Light blue walls (sky/water) and a dark wood table (drift wood) would be complimented best by a beige sofa (sand) and gauzy curtains in either white or dark blue (and by gauzy I mean sheer like linen). I did something similar in my last appartment - it felt very relaxing and breezy like a day at the beach. Enjoy your new home!

Answer
Check out http:// fourthavenue.org/home. 4th Ave. is full of cool spots, and they hold street fairs there twice a year. There are several vintage stores, gallerys, & restaurants. Bison Witches is an awesome sandwich shop on 4th, Right off of 4th Ave. is Congress street, the Rialto Theater is a great concert venue and they hold all ages shows there all the time. Pick up a Tucson Weekly Magazine when you get there, its a free weekly publication usually available in restaurants or coffee shops, its full of cool things to do and whatever might be going on that week in town. Check out the Safehouse coffee shop on Speedway and Alvernon, for a good cup of joe or tea, its usually full of cool people of all ages, they have a pool table and a loft full of cozy furniture if you like to sit and read or write. To check out an awesome sunset, drive west, all the way down Speedway to Gates Pass, it is absolutely breathtaking. If you like to hike or bike, there are tons and tons of trails all over Tucson and the surrounding areas, check out Sabino Canyon, or Sahuaro National Monument. If its hot take a drive up to Mount Lemon, its about 45 min outside of town and usually at least 20 degrees cooler, they offer picnic areas, hiking, camping, and fishing. Hope this is enough to get you started. Tucson is a cool town if you give it a chance, there is something for everyone, you just have to explore a little.
