What fields would I need If I was trying to create a relational database on workers at a summer camp?

I need to be able to find out their personal information, jobs, hourly rate, and anything else related to a job. I just need to draw the design and make sure that there is no redundency.

Answer
The main thing I'd remind you to do is to use a unique worker id number that is set to auto increment for the primary key for the workers table.

I'd start with something like:
worker_id AUTO_INCREMENT PRIMARY KEY INT(5)

Then do fields for each bit of info. I like to have a record of when I entered the row, so I'd do a date_entered, plus a date_started for whenever the worker started working there. I like to be able to order by date entered sometimes. Otherwise, then just do a field for each bit of personal info you want.

For jobsâwill workers have multiple jobs? If so, I'd do a jobs table where each job has a job_id number (auto_increment) as a primary key with a job title and a description. Then I'd do a job_assignments table with a field for worker_id, job_id, and assignment_id (as the auto_increment primary key) where jobs will be assigned to employees. You'll need to do a join when you query for information, but that shouldn't be a problem. This way, you don't have to have extra unused fields in your workers table since you never know how many jobs a worker will have, and you can assign as many jobs to an employee as you want via the job_assignments table.

Off the top of my head, that's how I'd start at it anyway.

Can state parks rent out handicap camping spots when full?

duder8675

My father has said when he designed and worked with a few county parks that their policy was to rent out the handicap spots to non handicap party's when everything else was taken but the handicap spots.

I was wondering if that were true for state parks as well. Specifically Wisconsin state parks.

Answer
Contact the Wisconsin State Park of your interest to determine present policies. Often, there are over-flow camping areas as well as private campgrounds near the state parks. Depending on the location, there may also be dispersed camping or backpacking "walk-in" site opportunities if you are willing to "rough it." I have never had any problems finding a place to camp. You may also qualify for "group" campsites.

First-come, first-served campsites

You can identify first-come, first-served sites by going to the Wisconsin State Park System Camping Reservations website. First-come, first-served sites are shown as "Walk-up only" in campsite lists and "W" in availability tables.

Campers can reserve campsites at most Wisconsin state parks and forests. Some parks and forests do not accept reservations and have sites that are available only on a first-come, first-served basis. Check with the forest, park, or trail office for current availability. Due to unpredictable demand, we cannot guarantee that a site that's vacant when you call will still be available when you arrive. You can register for non-reservable family sites for up to 14 consecutive days.

Any reservable site that has not been reserved is also available to campers who arrive without a reservation. The maximum allowable stay will depend on the next date for which the site has been reserved.

All campsites at the following locations are first-come, first-served only:
â¢Brule River State Forest, 35 sites
â¢Chippewa Moraine State Recreation Area, three remote sites
â¢Elroy-Sparta State Trail, 20 hike-in or bike-in sites
â¢Flambeau River State Forest, 60 family sites, 34 canoe sites
â¢Governor Knowles State Forest, 30 family sites, 30 equestrian sites, four backpack sites
â¢Peshtigo River State Forest, 16 sites
â¢Tower Hill State Park, 15 sites

Ramon, the

I'm talking about bars, movies and any kind of activity really if you had a person to go with, or to meet people. Speed dating, anything really.

Answer
Cinema - Most classic example, yet very usable, it's standard in the adolescent blind date scene, you can have fun even if the girl wants to spoil your evening.
Restaurant - She will usually expect you to pay for her; as a first date, you may both have an overly awkward feeling.
Cooking for/with her - More creative, but considered too dangerous for a first meeting of two almost-strangers!
Theatre - like the cinema, but a bit more unusual (and more expensive)
Local Play - Instead of a theatre, try going to a small local production, like at a community center. These are often quite professional, almost always a lot of fun, relatively inexpensive, and a lot less formal than a theatre.
Amusement Park - If you're young enough (teen), try going on a trip together with a school, community center, etc.
Go for a walk together - Free, non-threatening first date for almost-strangers.

Bar/Pub - why does this even need to be listed?
Beach - go for a walk on the beach, sunrise, sunset, any time. Swim or don't, play in the sand, build castles, or have a mudfight.
Bowling
Church or other kinds of religious services - Attend religious services together.
Concerts / summer rock festivals - Choose a band that has lively music and bright lights.
Convention center show - Call up the nearest city's convention center and see what's on.
The "Country" - If you live in an urban area with a lot of things to do, take a drive to where people get their kicks from picking off blackbirds from the fence with a rifle.
Dancing - No, you don't want to lead her into a normal disco where you have to fight the fleas that suddenly get interested in your girl...
Drive-in Movie - The classic aspect of a regular movie might make a girl yawn. Many cities still have Drive-in theatres. Try catching a scary movie here!
Errands - Not exactly a date per se, but taking a girl along to get useful things done can be a good neutral way to get to know each other on more or less a friendly basis
Expensive Areas - A lot of girls like to look at mansions, unless they live in one.
Food - early morning breakfast, or no-fork spaghetti, or a marathon dinner, or a dollar dinner (what you can find to eat for a dollar per person), or cornflakes by candlelight, or backwards dinner (with food on the table, eat while sitting facing the opposite direction), dinner at a campground, pacific island-themed dinner, and so on...
Games - Play hide-and-go-seek in the mall (Limit the area, if it is too large), play blind volleyball.
Hikes - Similarly, if there are some good nature areas around (state parks, historic sites, etc.), a good date can be walking a trail through them.
Kite-flying - You could both try to make an old-fashioned kite, or you could just get a cheap kite or two.
Miniature Golfing - A fun activity that allows some conversation, but an even balance of an activity as well.
Museums, Art - A nice combination of modern and classical art is good, so that you can get a break now and again from being weirded out by all the abstract stuff.
Park - go to a local park, sit on the benches and talk, or go for a walk around the lake.
Parties - Going for a party is always a nice idea.
Holiday Parties - have a Christmas party in July and go carolling. (most fun in a big group)
Playground - Make sure it is has decent-sized equipment to play on. Swings are a classic. Give her an under-dog. The right playground equipment will give you an opportunity to show off your physical prowess in a non-threatening, childlike way.
Pool - relatively cheap, can be a great way to have some fun.
Rock climbing - A nice excuse to show your strength and to help her climb.
Scenery - Anywhere outdoor with a nice lookout. Nothing like an romantic evening under the stars - and there will most likely be a coffee place to learn about each other.
Shopping - In any city there are interesting locations to go, Chinatown for example or a gothic or freaky shop.
Skating - Any type (roller skating, roller blading, ice skating, etc.) will do. It is a (relatively) painless and cheap way to spend some quality time.
Skiing - Skiing although sometimes expensive is a great way to "break the ice" especially if you are a particularly good skiier
Sunrise anything - See if she is a morning person. See what she looks like without makeup
Tea - Find a good teahouse, ask around. Sophisticated girls will love this one!
Theme Restaurant - These can be fun! Esepecially one where you and her may both have childhood memories!
Tricks - glue a quarter to the sidewalk, preferably in an area that gets a lot of people passing through, and then videotape the people who notice it.
Watching - Watching a big event on TV at your house.
Water - Pick a place with lots of birds or other wildlife.
Water Balloons

Has anyone been to a place called the Canoe Island Lodge in Lake George?

betsy

My mom and dad who are in their eighties are going there for a week next month.

Answer
A friend of mine sent her parents To the Island Lodge, and they enjoyed so much , the place is fantastic and they spend so much time in contact with nature.
I founded some information in the web:
Attention to detail, anticipation of the needs and wishes of our guests, courteous service: these are some of the traditions of classic inn keeping. Traditions we've been striving to uphold and improve these 59 years we've been in business. Canoe Island Lodge is not large, not small, accommodating 175 guests. This is a size that permits us to provide individual attention, yet justifies a wide variety of activities, a varied menu and gracious quarters. We hope Canoe Island Lodge will become your home away from home for enjoying time on the water and outdoors; a place where you can count on convenience and comfort; honest prices and a relaxing vacation.
What started modestly is now a rarity in terms of value and entertainment. Canoe Island Lodge offers a choice of lodging that includes log cabins, lakefront chalets, hillside cottages and rooms in the main lodge.
Although we have many different types of rooms, all our rates include meals & activities. During the off-season, our rates include Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner and all activities. During July & August our rates include Breakfast & Dinner and most activities. We also have a lakeside restaurant available for casual lunches.
Our main dining room has large tables for groups or families making new friends, and two side dining rooms for private tables.
Meals:
Breakfast is cooked to order, lunch is a lighter menu or out on the deck during July & August. The dinner menu offers a nice selection throughout the week. On Thursdays evenings, we load the boats and put on a great island barbecue including chicken, ribs & corn on the cob. Our chef offers a wide variety to meet your requests & our baker will tempt you with fresh pastries, rolls & desserts.
Room Descriptions:
We have a wide variety of accommodations at the lodge, for some categories we have 10 rooms that are alike, for others we have only one. We have a high percentage of returning guests, many have come for 20 years or more, reserving the same accommodations and meeting up with the same guests each year.
In addition to our extensive waterfront facilities, Canoe Island Lodge offers a variety of activities to make your vacation relaxing and enjoyable.
Evening Entertainment:
We have a variety of live entertainment: from live music on the boat deck, to the guest talent show, to games and karaoke in the tavern and clam bakes. We have boats for scenic cruises, custom built sailboats, a Ski Nautique, tennis courts, a basketball court, a sand volleyball court, a practice chipping area, and expansive decks and views overlooking the lake.
Scheduled Activites:
We have an activities director who coordinates fun events for the children from tie-dyeing tee-shirts, to capture the flag on the island. With advance notice we can work on private baby-sitting for your young ones. Adults often join together for pickup basketball, volley ball on the island beach or tennis.
Tennis:
We have two clay courts as well as rackets & balls at the front desk
Golf:
We have our own Pitch & Put Golf on our family friendly four hole course.
And have loaner clubs at the front desk.
Hiking:
The Adirondack Mountains have numerous day hikes throughout the area.
We offer a ¾ mile loop on our private nature trail.
Basketball, Volleyball, Shuffleboard & Ping Pong
Our area offers a variety of golf courses, mountain hikes, charter fishing, outlet shopping, museums & amusements.
