Answer
The bench could probably be repaired; whether you would call it "fixed" or not would be the question. The color of the replacement concrete, the surface texture, and the perimeter edge detail would probably be noticeably different. A surface line, crack, would still be noticeable. All of these things may be acceptable with you. But if you are looking to make it look like the original, it will not.
Options:
Go to a table and three bench arrangement.
Locate a source to replace the broken bench with an acceptable match. If you can't find an acceptable match go with a two old and two new bench arrangement.
Repair the existing bench with the limitations noted previously. (Repair costs could equal or exceed the cost of the replacement options.)
You can fix it if you are good at forming, properly mixing, placing, finishing and curing concrete and have all the proper tools, equipment and materials. You also need to know how to prepare the existing concrete surface to obtain a good bond of the patch concrete. You must also know how to insert concrete expansion anchors and minor reinforcing to hold the patch in place.
By the time you locate, yellow pages, Angie's List, word of mouth, however someone that is qualified to "repair" the bench with the hope that you will think it is "fixed", get an acceptable price and get the work completed, you would probably be time, money and frustration ahead to locate a replacement bench or benches.
To answer another question, I doubt if you can "fix it". If you were capable and knew how,you would not have asked this question and would have just proceeded with the "fix".
It need not be a total loss, set the broken bench with the broken end against an object so the broken portion is not visible. After the top of the bench has been covered with a few flower pots with large flowing plants in them, observers will complement you on your landscaping abilities. .
Hope that helped in your resolution of the "Case of the Broken Bench" Or "How to Make the Best of not the Best Situation"

kitchen table?

Laura M
I was wondering if anyone knows what kind of table would be good for a kitchen. I want something that looks good but can handle the hot plates of food and cold glasses without causing damage. I hate glass so that won't work. I also have kids and need it to be cleaned easily. HELP!!!
Answer
there's a medium size wooden table that can be extended from either end, with 2 benches for people to sit on, or a wrap-around type of bench, [with apolstery on the seats] check out the store Ikea, that's what we have and it looks so cozy in a corner. or anywhere.
