Will you all please help me with the wording for our wedding invitations?

mandygb198

We are having some trouble thinking of the best way to do our wording for our wedding invitations. Let me give you a little backgroud info on us so you can see why: We have known each other for 11 years and together for 8 years. We are both close to each others families. We have a 2.5 year old daughter. Built a new home last July. Our wedding has been put off for so many years because of so many unfortunate events such as car accidents, deployments, health and so on... and its FINALLY happening! Its very emotional for us and our families since its been a long time coming for us and we have been through so much. We are thrilled our day is coming soon and we can now exchange vows in our christian ceremony and have our Luau celebration reception!

We are having a Luau wedding. With the live band, dancers, feast, tiki bar and all. Its in the evening (6pm) And it will take place at his parents house in the country. They have acres and acres, beautiful pond, greenery and flowers everywhere. Also a nice firepit. We will also have papern lantern above, white lights wrapping the trees, tiki torches everywhere. All these things are being borrowed from family and we are doing a BBQ potluck. The band and dancers are free as well as I am on of the dancers in the group since I was 7. So the only money we are spending is on table, chair and linen rentals. The bar is a partial host. We are buying, but charging $1 each.

I am in a beach dress and he is wearing a white button up with khaki shorts. Us both in flip flops. Its going to be super laid back, casual and fun. And I want our guests to know that! They can be in coconut bras for all I care. I just want to marry the man I love and have a great time with those closest to us.

What we are struggling on is we want it to be kinda unique and to fit the evening. And because of our history, most of what I find on here is not appropriate for us. So if any of you could be so kind as to help or give any ideas, we would greatly appreciate it so much! Thanks to all in advance! :)

God has blessed me in so many ways! I am ever so greatful for my life...

P.S. I am asking polietly for those of you who feel the need to... to NOT give opinions on my life or what we are doing and why. If you are not here to answer the REAL question, please go answer someone elses. Thank you.

Answer
Hi there,
I'm sorry for the answers you've had so far - some people obviously have nothing better to do :)
I am a wedding stationer and I hope I can help you with some wording examples. I would start by sitting down and thinking of everything that you really want to say. I can already see you're good at that - and if you want to include a personal statement ("God has blessed me in so many ways! I am ever so grateful for my life...") then go for it - its your invite and it should come from the heart.

As long as your invitation includes all essential information â the names of those getting married, the date, the time and venue â you can write anything you like! Try not to worry about what to write â as long as itâs from the heart, itâll be great! Here's some templates you could start with:

Please join
Georgina Claire Smith
and
Stephen Aaron Jones
as they exchange marriage vows
and together with their daughter, Hannah, celebrate their family
at an evening ceremony
on Saturday, the fourth of May 2009
at one oâclock
at St. Marieâs Church, Rugby
followed by a fun, laid-back reception at Brownsover Hall
Coconut bras optional!

The ceremony will be followed by a casual reception

Hope that helps with a starting point for you. More ideas on my blog if you need them.
Enjoy your big day, it sounds like it will be wonderful, and well-deserved x
