benches that transform to tables image

Josh

I am a junior in highschool and looking to plan a big suprise for a one year dating anaversery with my girlfriend. I would love to set up a showing were I can have her favorite movie play, but I have no idea where to get a screen. Also I have her favorite food ready but I would love to have a table and everything set up in some beautiful scenic location, but im not sure where. I am new to the area so I would love assistance. Ideas?

Answer
OK~ I have got the point! Your girl friend will be very happy if she knows everything you have done for her. I am very happy to recommend you some gorgeous romantic places for you to celebrate your dating anniversary ~~Hope you can have a memorable and romantic day!!!

1. Burke Baker Planetarium: One Hermann Circle Dr., 77001.
This planetarium is only 1 of 3 worldwide with a full-view SkyScan Digital Sky projector--making events here shine in big, Texas-style living color. Once the lights go down and the music goes up, the dark amphitheatre transforms into a kissing oasis! What is more, few people will come there and you can set a table there in advance.

2. The Williams Tower: 2800 Post Oak, Ste. 6262, 77056
The Williams Waterfall in front of the building is haloed in an almost-constant rainbow of mist and sunshine, complete with benches and a wishing fountain. Is that cool? If you see a film there, that will be terrific~~

3. The Galveston Seawall, 77553
A beautiful place to watch the waves crash against the jetties or to sit upon with a picnic lunch, the seawall serves as both protector from, and portrait of, the Gulf of Mexico.

4. Vargo's Gardens: 2401 Fondren, 77001
Peacocks, swans and squirrels call this place home, and add to the enchanting ambiance of this place--a natural choice for outdoor events of all kinds.

OH~ forget to remind you: All the things you will do are outdoor, so you had better pay more attention to the weather on that day. You can check out the weather forecast on the web below.
http://www.houstonhotelsguide.com/hotels-travel/houston-weather.html
When you go to the above places, please be careful and take care of yourself.

I don't want to use traditional dining room furniture in my dining room.?

minnie

I already have a 6-seater dining table in my breakfast nook. I want some low benches with plenty of cushions and transform the dining into a conversation area. Any idea of where I can get low benches or any other ideas on what to do with the space?

Answer
As for the low benches try jcp.com or grandinroad.com. As for what else to do with it is according to your family's lifestyle and what suits you best. Have fun.

At my family get-togethers we always played catch, frisbee, softball, volleyball, horseshoes, and various types of tag. We also had a fire pit at our house and that was fun to just sit around and talk or roast hot dogs or marshmellows/s'mores.

Any ideas for things to do at an outdoor party?

Jess

I'm throwing a party and I have a pretty big backyard so I'll have a fire and probably set up a beer pong table (drinking game). I've had parties in the past and always wanted more ideas for things to do to make it more exciting. My neighbor is a DJ and she might set up in the back yard. Anyone have any other ideas?

baseball
horseshoes
water balloon toss
card games board games ( on a 1 hour timer)

karaoke/ or lip sinc
balloon break ( put the baloon between two people and see who can break it first)

What kind of theme would you have for a birthday party?

proudmoman

My oldest daughter is turning 4 and my second oldest is turning three. We are having a joined birthday party since their birthdays are a day apart. We have thought about doing one of these but other suggestions are welcome
* princess and prince party
* my little pony party
* care bear party
* littlest pet shop party
* beach theme party

Which one would you pick and other suggestions are welcome

Answer
I did a beach themed for my oldest boy...he turned 3 and he had so much fun.
Here is what I did;
1. I had a palm tree pinata
2. I had a table cloth that was a beach themed table cloth
3. I had shrimp, fish and crab for fun :) we also had chips and stuff
4. we had blue gatorade (like the ocean) and water...plus pop
5. we put sand in our front yard...we just put a tarp down and bought some sand and layed it down on top of the tarp...easy clean up and fun for all ages
6. we let a sprinkler go for the kids
7. we had beach lawn chairs for the adults
8. beach balls, shovels, buckets and other beach toys were involved
9. His cake was blue and had a beach theme on it. :) cute
10. We also had a volleyball net..that is optional. :)

I would really try to do the sand idea because that was so much fun and we all had a complete blast. :) I think he had fun because everyone else was having fun too. :)

All of the themes were cool but I could relate to this one. :)

good luck and have fun. :)

how do i prevent getting attacked from ticks while camping in scotland?

Q. I am planning a big adventure in scotland for at least 2 months, wild camping, surviving of the land.

My main worry are ticks, how do i prevent from getting attacked, will they attack me in my tent, while walking on flat grass? just need abit of info on this subject please thanks guys.

Answer
Are you referring to the Great Scottish Midge? Midgeus Bitteus Extremis var Scotii?
First, stay away from water...lochs,rivers and streams, swampy marshy claddaghs, etc.
Second, go outside only when there is a high wind. Midges can't fly in that so they hide away all cozy where they can breathe.
Second and a half, only go out in bright light, preferably Glorious Scottish Sunshine cos the blighters really like evenings and nights better than bright stuff because all blood-sucking vampires do that anyway....it's only natural.
Third, buy a midge net or three to cover the places like faces that normal clothing doesn't cover
Fourth, buy Deet or similar sprays and spray everything but it's harmful on skin so take care.
Also Fourth, buy a big pack of mosquito coils, commonly called Elephant coils which you wouldn't know quite likely cos they're mostly commonly called that in Malaysia and Singapore cos the major brand of them there is 'Elephant Brand' and fishing by a river without them in the evening is a soddin' nightmare....
When you sit down for a rest or a go at the Glorious Scottish Rainbow Trout and Salmon beside a beautiful Scottish loch or river in the evening, light a couple of coils and they'll smoulder away for six hours or so unless you got cheapies which last an hour if you're lucky, and the fumes will deter midgy stuff and most other small flying things.
If you want to put one out....extinguish it, not put it out by the back door out of the way cos you won't have one there unless you've got a really posh tent....just break the smouldering end off.
Fifth, buy a sleeping bag with legs and arms and keep it on continuously with a well fitted crash helmet with a full visor, a thick scarf wrapped round your neck to seal the gap, and thick leather gloves on your hands, trousers tucked into the outer pair of socks and the join covered with well fitted gaiters, and go in winter so you stay cool enough.
Just don't drink anything. It's a bit inconvenient that way.....and later on.

If you mean ticks as in grass type ticks that live on grass, well that's one reason for the traditional arrangement of socks and boots used by walkers on the hills and far away.
Cover all exposed skin when walking in long grass and get the wrists and neck sealed well.
Wear short thick woolen socks over long 60% cotton 35% wool 5% Elastane or similar walking socks.
Roll the short woolen socks over the top of your boots to seal the gap.
Tuck the trousers neatly into the long socks, one bit of trouser each side so there are two pleats evenly spaced, one on each side, not one one side and none the other side which looks totally stupid.
Put on a pair of lightweight or heavyweight hopefully breathable waterproof gaitors for added protection.
All sealed up and tick-proofed. Jumping spider proofed. Snake bite proofed for desert and jungle walkies.
Wind proofed and even wet water splash proofed for jumping over streams and tramping through deep puddles but they won't save you from sinking up to your neck into black holes on Rannoch so take care.
Good at what they do though.
Proper professional job. Turn up to a village rambling club and watch the horrified faces.
Oh nooooo....a real one...what on Earth will he think of us.....oohh,grief.
It's happened....quite a few times...hahahaha

If you meet a wild haggis in full battle regalia it's fair game.....use anything at hand.
You'll need it.
All the others cannot be shot on a Sunday and must be treated as honorary guests at the dining table.
Have a great time.

What is it like camping at the bottom of the grand canyon?

april_hwth

I am determined to get to the bottom of the grand canyon. What is it like carrying all that stuff down there? Does the duffel service carry tents? There is no lodging available at Phantom Ranch for hikers until next October. We want to go this Spring. My husband is not crazy about camping. Should we just do some day hikes and not worry about getting to the bottom?

Answer
It is definitely worth trying to get to the bottom of the Grand Canyon as it is a very different (and in my opinion) much more rewarding experience than just staying on the top. There is no feeling on earth like standing beside the muddy waters of the Colorado River with the dark rough walls of the Inner Gorge towering above you. I have been to the bottom over a dozen times and it still makes my heart skip a beat each visit.

Bright Angel campground (the one at the bottom by Phantom Ranch) is about as civilized a backcountry camp site as you are going to find. They have a facet with drinking water and real bathrooms with flush toilets. Each campsite has a picnic table with ammo cans and poles for storing food away from critters. Although it is a large camp area and all the sites are close together, the lush vegitation and the pleasant background noise of nearby Bright Angel creek make it feel very peaceful and not crowded.

As far as how tough it is to backpack down... well, I would say that if you consider yourself fit enough to hike it without a pack than you can probably handle it with one (unless perhaps, you have significant knee or lower back problems). As long as your pack fits correctly, you take your time and stop for rests when you need them than you should not have any problems - especially since you have several months to prepare. I have a couple of friends who are over 40 and a bit over-weight (certainly not athletes) who I have done it with and they did not have problems - they just took it slow at their own pace.

Mr. Danger above has a lot of good tips and suggestions. As he notes, you will want to make sure that you get ready both physically and mentally. Start with going on regular hikes around your home with a small day pack and then try renting or borrowing a pack, load it up with the weight you expect to carry, and try doing some long day hikes with that (doing at least one easy overnight practice trip would be ideal). You are going to want to be building up your leg muscles, increasing your cardio-vascular endurance, and also building up stomach and lower back muscles. Note - it is not training for the olympics - just that if you don't do regular cardio exercise than you should start and make sure that you get a day or two experience carrying a full pack.

As Mr. Danger notes you could try buying stuff on eBay or rent from several places near the canyon. A couple of additional suggestions about packing the canyon for the first time:

1) While it does not have to be the ultra-ligh high-end stuff, make sure that you get true backpacking equipment. You do not want to be carrying an 10lb 'car camping' tent or other much heavier equipment. If your entire pack - including water - is over 30lbs than something is wrong.

2) Fit is everything. Regardless of if it is bought, borrowed or rented find somebody knowledgeable to guide you in loading and fitting your pack. I will take a well-balanced well-fit heavy pack over a poorly packed, ill-fitting light pack any day. Remember that the weight should ride on your hips, not your shoulders.

3) Invest in some trekking poles (look like ski poles). These make a huge difference by taking strain off your back and knees and improving your balance. Having a pair of trekking poles is like taking 10lbs off your pack.

4) Be warned that the South Rim is at 7000 feet and does experience snow and freezing temps in winter. Icy patches can be quite common on the upper stretches of trails well into April. Check with the backcountry office before you go - if they are really icy, you will want to have instep crampons.

5) See about getting your meals at the Phantom Ranch canteen. Even if you are not staying in the dorms/cabins, they always have extra dinners and breakfast seats that backpackers can reserve (you MUST have reservations - made through Xanterra). Although a bit pricy, the food is good and it means you don't have to carry food or cooking supplies. Bag lunches (as well as individual snack items) can be bought at the canteen without reservation.

6) Backcountry camping permits are selected 4 months in advance. Spring is a popular time for backpacking in the canyon, so permits get picked quickly. If for instance, you want to go in April, than you should have your permit request sent in well before January 1 (see link below).

As far as duffel service goes... yes, (for most of the year anyways) you can hire a mule to carry your gear. The gear must fit in a space of 36x20x13 inches, which could prove a challenge for two people's gear. It costs about $60 per duffel per trip (ie: one trip down and one trip up) and you can only drop-off and pick-up your gear at certain times during the day. You are still going to have to carry a day pack with water, snacks and probably some bad weather gear. Considering the hassle and expense of the duffels, I would say just backpack it - it is a great experience and the feeling of accomplishment and independence that you get when you come out of the canyon carrying your own gear is something you will remember for the rest of your life.

How do you keep your box turtles?

outdoor table lamps on Alain Berteau Drum Lights Table Lamps
outdoor table lamps image

codeylol

I keep my 2 3-toed box turtles in a 5x2.5 foot indoor enclosure, and in the summer they live in an outdoor pen. I think the measurements are 6x7 feet for that one. I keep the temps at around 85 degrese on one side, and on the other side temps stay at around 65-70. They are feed a veried diet, but the items that stay the same ate earthworms, dandelion greens, and romaine letuse. Its hard to give a whole list of what I feed them; I keep it varied like how it would be in the wild. Please, only serious awnsers only:)

Answer
1.) Enlarge both pens. The suggested minimum size for a single adult three-toe is 4'x4' (many sites suggest smaller pens, but considering the wild territory is almost a football field, the real answer is definately 'the bigger the better!)

2.) Studies show that wild diets are about 75% insects and such. Again, a lot of websites suggest different ratios, but the research is pretty clear- these are insectivores that eat some vegetation opportunistically.

3.) The biggest challenge I have is indoor humidity combined with the need for fresh air. Tough to do in a larger pen. I offer a 'humidity house'- basically a large clear box with a heat lamp, plant, drip bottle, and a big hole in the side covered with a curtain of plastic strips. I use suspended jugs with slow drips to irrigate live plants in the tank, and a pile of peat moss and sand in one area to create islands of humidty, but the humidity box is still often pretty crowded!

My outdoor pen is the back yard- about 25'x50'. It has a chain-link fence that I secured with long wire 'staples' into the ground, and thresholds at the gates that seal the openings. Wherever the turtles congregate at the fence, I've reinforced it with sheets of plywood to keep them from trying to walk through the big mesh. Several tubs and paint roller trays are sunk in places for drinking and bathing. Lots of bushes and plants, an unmowed area, several digging areas, etc.

My indoor home is an 8'x4' pen raised to almost waist level. Under this is storage and a 'sand table' with greenhouse heating cables to keep the thing warm. Lots of cables in the hot zone, and progressively fewer towards the cool end.

The floor of the cage has a sunken pond (a paint roller tray) and space for some plastic sunken tubs used for digging space, live plants, etc. The humidity hut is in about the middle, and each corner has a hiding place. Some potted plants help with humidiy and shade. Lights are hung from an overhead frame with a series of timers to allow them to come on and off slowly to simulate dawn and dusk.

The entire thing is covered in a heavy plastic tent to help hold the heat and humidity in and minimize drafts.

I am working on an idea for a 'air conditioner' that would blow warm, moist, filtered air into the habitat while not introducing noise or vibrations, and a simple flapped 'valve' vent to allow old air out. I am also planning for a second 8'x4' pen to join the first in the near future. One plan is for the new space to be multi-level to oncrease the cage floor space without taking up more room!

what is the street in san fran with all of the outdoor cafes and restaurants?

ewatt12

I was in San Fran around 8 years ago and I remember their being one street with plenty of outdoor places to eat and they all had heating lamps. Maybe I imagined this but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
If the street was blocked off and had tables down the middle of it you are probably thinking of Belden Alley or Claude Lane off Bush Street. Beldin is one restaurant right after another, Claude Lane has about 3 restaurants with outdoor seating. If it was a single restaurant it could have been one of the two blocks that make up Maiden Lane off of Union Square.

If it was a major street with sidewalk tables it may have been Columbus Avenue between Vallejo and Green.

My uncle has a few of these things. They are two benches that have hinges and they fold together to make a picnic table. I soooo want one of these. My husband is very handy and with his fathers cabinet shop, i'm sure he could make it. Does anyone know where I could get the template to this? Or does anyone know how and could tell me how to make it? I have a lot of kids and this would be perfect for our porch!

Answer
I know what you are talking about, there are no patterns available that I know of. It isn't that complex, a handy person can make their own.

When varnishing a picnic table, should I do the underside as well?

Miriem

I've varnished the top of the picnic table 3 times, and will do the legs several times also. but should I give the underside of the table and benches at least one coat of varnish or not at all?

Answer
I vote for not at all. Moisture which seeps into the wood should have ample opportunity to evaporate, so as to prevent rot.

What is a good way to spice up married sex life?

John Treas

I have reached the point in my marriage where I am not being pleased by my wife sexually. I do have the temptation of cheating but up to this point, I have resisted. What is something I can do to spice up my sex life so that I can get my wife going again? There are a few things she won't let me do such as anal or finishing in her face. If there is something I could convince her to let me do those things then let me know.

Answer
Be more romantic. You're thinking too much of yourself in this
marriage, but I can say that you resisting cheating is wonderful,
keep resisiting or you'll have alot more problems than your sex life.

Anyways, Take her out to eat to a nice place. If you can't afford a nice place,
then take her to the beach at night, with candles and a blanket and a snack.
Whatever, but girls love there men, romantic. trust me.

Have you tried having sex like uh.... on the kitchen table[best place ever].. like while she's cooking or by the stove or in the kitchen, tease her with your dick. Touch her in the right places, kiss her neck, lick her neck, put your hands all over her body and tell her she's beautiful, and sweet talk her okay.

Other pleaces to have sex: Shower, living room, on a chair, etc etc.

OH YEAH UHHHH. You guys should role play as different people.
Like my favorite is like: you be a rapist and yeah, you rip her clothes off etc, etc.

gosh this stuff is quite complicated to explain.

Will restaurants in Disneyland Florida provide hot water to heat baby milk?

Tarryn

My family are travelling to Florida in a few days time and my cousin is wondering if restaurants in the area will provide hot water to heat up her baby's milk or whether to carry a flask with hot water. Our health and safety rules in the UK have gone mad so I know it's not provided here. It would save a great deal of worry (and weight!) if anyone has any experience? Thanks!

What are some fun things to do while camping in Uwharrie National Forest?

Sara

I am going camping next weekend with my dad and his bff. I need some ideas for my camping trip to Uwharrie National Forest. What are some fun things to do while I am in the car and camping with my dad? And does Badin Lake offer swimming? I need a list of ideas soon. Thanks!

Answer
You can contact the National Forest Service District Ranger Office for ideas.

Uwharrie Ranger District
District Ranger, Deborah Walker

uwharrie@fs.fed.us

You can swim in Badin Lake. Hike to waterfalls. Read a book. Do your homework. Plan meals that you can cook for your dad and his best friend.

Bordering a lakeshore and under the shade of pines and hardwoods, Badin Lake Campground offers a year-round retreat for swimmers, boaters, and anglers. The campground has 34 non-electric sites for tent and trailer camping. Some sites are located on the lakeshore. Each site has a table, grill, lantern post, fire ring, and tent pad. There are 4 water spigots for drinking water located in the campground. Flush toilets and showers are located in both the upper and lower loops. Fee stations are located at the entrance of both loops.

Basically we want to know what you have in your house that you really like. We're not really wondering about furniture but to give you an idea we were thinking of grabbing a bench press and a foosball table (which we would add plexiglass over to make foosball + beer pong table) maybe a computer to act as a server Thanks for all your ideas!

Answer
I live in a house with 3 roommates and were all 23. We have 4 computers plus 1 computer for guest use and an expensive wireless router so we can all game at the same time. 2 foldable beer pong tables we keep behind our couch in the living room. A dart board in the corner our living room. A Wii setup on an extra tv on the side of the living room for party use and a 360 set up on the main tv for Rockband 2 and Guitar hero because I'm addicted to it and for some wierd reasons girls always seem to be interested in it. We have a ping pong table, a couple couches and 2 mini frigdes set up in our garage as an extra party spot for people who want to smoke or just not be in the main part of the house. The only thing were missing that I really want is a pool table.

Of course, our house is basically set up for parties now since we have them pretty often. Under normal circumstances I dont think we'd have 2 tvs and a dart board in our living room lol.

Where to go while in Cincinnati?

Building R

I will be traveling with my girlfriend to Cincinnati for a Bengals game. We are planning on staying Sunday night and doing some sight seeing Monday. Does anyone have any suggestions about must see places in Cincinnati area. I was interested in doing some gambling while there as well. Point me in the direction of the best or most popular Casino/Other attractions would be mcuh appreciated. Places to eat are also welcome.

Answer
Take a boat ride down the Ohio River. There are many options for boat rides up and down the Ohio River. www.allstarchartersandtours.com is a great site for booking a boat trip. The weekend after Thanksgiving is a popular time for locals to take a boat trip, so book in advance if you are visiting g Cincinnati at this time.

Eat at Buskens. Buskens is Cincinnati's local bakery. They make everything from donuts to fresh baked bread. They even make those little hotdog buns for conies. Buskens main store is located in Hyde Park, about 3 miles north of downtown. They have locations throughout Cincinnati and the surrounding areas. You can contact their downtown store at 513-421-8869. They serve up a great cup of coffee and there is almost always a line in the morning for their sugary confections.

Eat at Montgomery Inn Ribs. These Cincinnati ribs are famous throughout the word. From the minute I found out I was going to have to love there everyone kept barraging me to eat there. Happily I was not disappointed. You can order these ribs online as well at www.montgomeryinn.com.

Visit Hofbrauhaus House. This copy of the German original actually a few feet outside of the City of Cincinnati limits, but is still deemed a local Cincinnati favorite. Huge long wooden tables support locals and tourists alike as they swill down beer out of mugs bigger than their head, the brew some of their own beer and it is fabulous. The food is a combination of bar food and German inspired favorites. Hofbrauhaus Newport is located at Third & Saratoga Streets, Newport, KY 41071.

Eat some Graeter's ice cream. You just can't go to Cincinnati without eating a little Grater's. They make their ice ream the old fashioned way, slow churned, with very little air. This makes a dense ice cream that is creamy beyond compare. Their biggest seller is the raspberry chocolate chip. Stores are located throughout the Cincinnati area, but the most charming store is located on Hyde Park Square. Families gather around park benches outside Grater's door and eat their ice cream all year long. Visit them online at www.graeters.com for store locations.

How much should I ask for my barn wood table on craigslist?

kitchen benches and tables on ... table from pottery barn new industrial style benchwright dining table
kitchen benches and tables image

Bored@work

My brother in law got ahold of some 160 year old barn wood, and built me a massive table. It is 8 ft 7 in x 4 ft 7 in, and it comes with a bench. It is very heavy, and sturdy and has a great design. It is too big for my kitchen, so I want to sell it, but I'm not sure how much to ask. Any ideas?

Answer
Really all depends on the fit and finish. If it's well done and finished then maybe $300. If it's just so-so then $100. Hope that helps.

How on earth do I cut Hardibacker?

babybunny7

I am woking on installing a tile countertop in my kitchen. I have the plywood base down and it's level but I need to put hardibacker on top of it and I don't know how to cut it. I've heard of the score and snap method, but I am unsure how to do this. Do you score both sides? I tried scoring one side and snapping it but it didn't snap. I had to hit it with a hammer just to get it to bust off in smallish pieces.
Please HELP!

Answer
Cutter blade is too thin and will stuck inside the board.
There is a special cutter for cutting hardibacker, around $10. Homedepot or Lowes should have it.
Cut one side, and snap it over a straight edge, like work bench or table, or use some 2 X 4.
Ask the floor guy at the store.

What are some creative ways to display table seating cards at a wedding?

beach table names on Table Name
beach table names image

Nikky

I want to something a bit more different then the usual folded up in line cards with everyones name and table numbers. I want it to be creative but not expensive.

Answer
It would help to give you ideas if we knew what kind of theme or setting you are having at the event.

For example, for a beach wedding, you could paint everyone's name on a shell at their place setting.

For a formal wedding, you could have people's names embroidered or screen printed on their napkin.

You could put a tiny pot of flowers with each guests names painted on it at each place setting.

There are lots of things you can do if you think outside the box.

What were the cup holders meant for the beach (aka with legs) on the Today show?

Pyrefly

They were for the beach and you'd put the legs into the sand and not get any sand on yr drink.

Answer
They were used for a beach outing and you'd put the legs into the sand which prevented any sand sticking to the drink container or into your drink. For a superior answer you need look no further than what I have presented.
http://www.islandbeachgear.com/ez-beach-attachments-cup-holder.html
http://www.islandbeachgear.com/beach-chairs/beach-chairs-cup-holders/
Whats is more, overall they are meant as replacement for a table to rest drinks to allow for free hands to do other things such as Volleyball.

Too many people are hypocritical fools and this/a certain poster is tops in that description. Ninety percent of his/her answers are pointless and secondary too every other one posted yet he gets a standard 3 votes per answer. A shameful waste of life.

Well, what is this here?
Q:
What would you like to ask?whats the difference between carlsberg export and carlsberg?

âThe strength and the recipe.
I could just "cut n paste" from the Carlsberg web site like another answerer, but what's the point.â

Such a trite response that he/she provides. What no web page provided? But we established here that a web site is requisite to providing help to a poster. What a mixed up and twisted mind.

In summation to the poster of this question (*):

EDIT: OH LOOK - Suddenly, because there is actually a valid answer posted, Braxator decides to post a proper answer, instead of his first attempt at sarcasm (by simply parroting part of the question as an answer).
*As if this guy has the ability to judge, what a laugh.

And well done on his "superior" links - one simply shows chairs with drinks holders in the arms - I could have posted dozens of those, but decided to STICK TO WHAT WAS ASKED.
* The chairs are a bonus and work very well for me, no charge for the extra effort. Real world experience comes in to play sometimes as does help and meaningful tips.

EDIT 2: Strangely enough I use EDIT to show what was not in my original answer.

Unlike the site paranoid egomaniac that is Braxator, who simply adds things in with no indication that they were added later. The original answer was simply the rubbish about them being things you put on the beach to stop sand getting in your drink - and that is NOT a valid answer to what was asked. IT was only after I had answered, 2 DAYS LATER, that any info was added, but as no EDIT was indicated people coming along later will not know that.
*Why the peronal attack? If you wish to edit then do so but do not engage me in any way. So now proofreading is something that needs to be disclosed. What a joke.

He also seems to have the same style as Beer - anyone who questions him is suddenly accused of being a multi account using cheat.
* Only those that have been proven to be a cheat AKA Weatherm-.
Answers the same as BEER, yes the guy that blew you out of the water with his great knowledge of beer but, why not the same style of writing, he is my brother and we oft answer each others accounts. Oh.... But where he will not respond to the ignorant people here, I will. By the way it will soon be time again for the "unnamed" to change the Pic and bio page on your slave account of a copy of his as he will be changing them. Keep protecting your slave accounts while trying to mock and harass him. Loser. I find it funny that the unnamed have taken my account name for his/her twisted amusement. But not a problem because I actually get a laugh so keep up the "Fools" work.

Well sorry but I would be more suspicious of someone who has a 70% best answer rating being a multi accounter - and that would be Braxator not me.
* I thank anyone for recognizing my superiority to themselves. But this is counter to the remark indicated here *%*

EDIT 3: And now it gets worse, yet another edit claiming that they are a replacement for a table to leave hands free for volleyball - surely thats what a table already does.
*Here is the correction Mr. "Englishman," for "thats" which needs to be "that's." I am happy to help those that need the tutoring with spelling skills.
Question: Are you stupid? Really, are you, I am asking? A table is used, among other things, to place items upon. While at the beach engaging in other activities such as volleyball, so since we have no table we naturally place our drink in the sand . Oh... yes genius, this is the type of scenario that led to the invention for which I have responded.

As for the comment about getting his question deleted, it had now been reported - BY MYSELF - because referring to myself as her/she is against site rules.
*TROLL

*%* PS: I should point out now, I have only just started looking at the old questions with few answers, as this is where Braxator can normally be found - trying to mop up Best Answers simply because no one else has answered.
* YES! Yes, yes indeed, a very wise tactic that I have employed for the past couple of years which has yielded me a 70-% Best Answer record. A unanswered question is an open field. But I give excellent answers even when no others have (cept a few jokes no ans again).
-One vote = very clean = Best Answer : }
Quite frankly I find is sad that someone is more interested in boosting their ego on here than they are in giving someone the answer to their question.
*I agree with this statement and I wish more people would respond to the posted question as I do and not respond to other people/peopleâs answers.

*I have and always provide very good and through answers and often provide a reference source. I wish others could be as through and considerate as myself.

Some users on here really do need to take a good look at their lives since too many (one) can not get over being a foregone conclusion.

You are a liar and a fake. As for my brother, he has been awarded many best answer selections because he is the most knowledgeable within this section and always provides through answers. Period! As for help from friends-he has freely admitted that several friends/contacts have had accounts and selected his answers because they were the best. He does not want trolls like you going through his account any longer.

Now open up your account so we can witness the 3, 4, 5 and more votes you have Cheated to gain best answer.

I too will be reviewing your answers and reported any not answered properly. Remember Tit for tat. In fact I challenge you to come up with competing answers to either of our own.

My average answer goes like this one.

How to make a room look Hawaiian /beachy?

beach decor for tables on ... Wedding Decorations: Best Beach Wedding Table Centerpieces Decorations
beach decor for tables image

Gymnast4Ev

Long story short, my dad built a sandbox about 4 feet by 5 feet in our backyard, and put up walls and a room to make it like a sandbox/room (this was about 10 years ago, when my brothers were about 8 and 9). He dug out 3 feet of dirt and filled it with sand. Over the years, we've added rooms around it and now, we have a fort with 3 rooms downstairs, a "loft" with mattresses and all that, we have electricity, and one of the rooms (the kitchen) has running water. I decided to paint a few of the rooms, and I though it'd be cool to turn the sandbox into a beach room.
So far, I put 2 buckets a few feet apart, and put a board, a few cushions, and a sheet over it to make a couch, I've put to beach pictures on the wall, and put a shelf thing (with little cupboards at the top and a shelf at the bottom) on the other wall. I also put a ton of shells on top of the shelf thing. What else can I do? P.S. I'm gonna paint the walls like a Tiffany blue. Thanks in advance!

Answer
If your artistic you could paint a beach mural
collect shells and maybe make a coffee table by putting the shells on a board and putting a peice of plexi glass over with some boards or cement block stacked up to add height
you could get some palm leaves or a fake palm tree and use it for decor
Maybe if your intrested in music you could lern to play the ukelele and mount it on the wall as decor when your not playing
you could have a couple buckets with sand sitting around for decor
get one of those bamboo or tiki looking rugs and lay down
You could even make a little tiki bar

What colour curtain and sofa should i get?

hamiga

I am moving into a house that has light blue wall colour. I was wondering what colour to choose for the curtains and the sofa. Please note the living room is small and the coffee table is mahogany.

Answer
When it comes to decor, I like to take cues from nature. Light blue walls (sky/water) and a dark wood table (drift wood) would be complimented best by a beige sofa (sand) and gauzy curtains in either white or dark blue (and by gauzy I mean sheer like linen). I did something similar in my last appartment - it felt very relaxing and breezy like a day at the beach. Enjoy your new home!

How do I create a good art show set-up?

camping table chairs set on Outdoor garden PATIO FURNITURE dining table chairs set for sale
camping table chairs set image

gal friday

I'm new to the juried art show world, and I've got one coming up in December. I need a 10x10 booth, which I have to make myself, which also needs to be covered... Finding a camping cover-up that size shouldn't be difficult, but what's a good idea for the walls to hang my paintings upon? It needs to be effective as well as look pleasant.

Answer
Not sure if your art is themed or not, so if you'd need a different background for various paintings, but if you do, try this as a lightweight, easy to assemble/take down & carry to different shows:

1. Use PVC tubing & union joints to build 3 frame walls
that are as tall as you need

2. Find a solid color fabric you like & drape it over each
wall. (You can vary the color/texture/etc. if you want.)
This will give you privacy & define your space. If you
need some extra space to hang small, lightweight
sketches, use double-sided tape to adhere the fabric
draped over the back of your frame, then a small tab
on the back of each sketch to adhere it to the front
for display.

3. Get some room dividers that match each theme of
your paintings. If the divider is fabric covered, use
curtain hooks to hang your pictures; if its wood, use
screw in hooks; if its plastic/vinyl, use 3M hangers;
etc. (Rember to bring a small tackle box you can
keep under your chair with extra hangers, scissors,
tape, etc.)

4. You could lean larger, framed paintings against the
legs of the table you set-up in a corner of your 10 x
10 booth + set-up a couple easels in other corners.

Not knowing exactly the size/weight/medium of your paintings its difficult to give you just one idea. I hope at least one of these helps you think of a way to display your art.

What kinds of food should I bring camping with me?

SuFi ChIcK

going camping for the first time alone with my bf and this is our first time going with out our parents or family.

Answer
Assuming TENT CAMPING! If you are taking a Trailer/RV you can take just about anything you desire!

Short trip car> Bread, Peanut butter and jelly, canned stew and vegetables, tea/instant coffee, at least 2 gallons of drinking water, grate/grill for cooking over fire, Kitchen matches with the striker from the box in a plastic bag to protect from moisture, Instant potatoes, box Macaroni & Cheese, Canned Baked Beans. Instant Oatmeal in whatever flavors you desire. Salt and pepper in sealed plastic containers, Sugar and /or any other seasonings likewise in sealed containers. A coffee pot, for heating water for coffee or tea. Anything else you like, which does not absolutely require refrigeration. Ice chest and camp stove are optional but highly recommended! Cold Soda or beer is definitely a plus!

Longer trip car> Ice chest and camp stove become mandatory! But that also allows more flexibility in meal plans, with ice chest and stove you can take eggs, butter and milk to prepare a more traditional breakfast including if you desire Bacon! You can also take steak and other meats to grill ( do not forget to take suitable seasonings!) and if space permits a large cast griddle or fry pan you can take pancake mix (requires egg and milk, and do not forget the spatula!) Take along 2, 10 quart metal buckets to be your wash basins and I recommend Dawn brand dish soap and Scotch Bright Pads to clean up those greasy pots and pans. At least 2 flat hot pads and an oven glove. Durable plastic plates and glasses, and plastic insulated mugs and a set of flatware including a sharp (steak) knife for each person and serving spoons and forks.

Other important items: You will need a multi-purpose pocket knife ( Swiss Army style - not necessarily brand - and make sure it is SHARP and well lubricated ) Trash Bags. A 6 way screwdriver, a small hatchet with sheath, Take lots of 5/32" nylon line and a couple of pocket lighters when you cut a length of the line seal the end with the lighter so it will not fray. A pack of thumb size candles for fire starting. Pocket Flashlights.

A table lantern - Colman White Gas AKA "Camp Fuel" lantern or battery - Coleman Lanterns last forever and produce vast amounts of bright white light, but they require a steady supply of fuel, Mantels and the occasional replacement Generator and Globe, if you choose the Coleman Lantern be sure to practice lighting it several times during daylight in an outdoor location well away from anything flammable and NEVER EVER EVEN THINK ABOUT LIGHTING IT INSIDE OF YOUR TENT OR ANY OTHER STRUCTURE!!!!!)

Take about twice as many towels as you might want at first thought, 1 wash cloth per person plus 1 dish cloth are sufficient. Pack large zip-lock bags to carry wet clothing / swimwear in.
Collapsible Chairs and camp stools are great but don't break the bank to buy them for your first trip.

Take Clothing suitable for Winter and Rainy Conditions in the area where you will be camping! (Ponchos! And heavy coats! ) Nothing worse than getting frozen stiff because the weatherman blew it! This includes a Knit Cap which covers your ears if the temperature could possibly fall below 50 Degrees F!

Take good warm sleeping bags (rated ZERO Degrees F ) which can be joined together and AIR MATTRESSES! One for each person and a SPARE! Do not even think about camping without air mattresses!

Please plan on purchasing your firewood where you camp to avoid moving around BAD Insects! Take newspaper in a plastic bag for fire starting too.

If Space and Funds permit a set of poles and a camp Fly (10'X10' Tarp) are very desirable to keep the table area dry in the event of rain ( minimum 6 poles and a dozen 14' long lines, stakes, S-Hooks and O-rings - the O-ring prevents sharp edges on the Stake from damaging the line and the S-Hook makes it real easy to attach to the tarp eyes.

Proper equipment and preparation make all the difference between comfortably riding out the storm when camping and being cold wet and miserable when the unexpected .

Have Fun!

I love the idea of having them for outdoor parties, but I can't find any decent looking ones if any at all! Any thoughts?

Answer
I actually used WalGreen's to furnish the tables for a Summer Lulou Wedding.

So Go to a Walgreen pharmacy and look through their summer section. Also, I shop at Asian Indian stores and other Asian cultural stores for spices, many of them carry very pretty plastic dishes with flower patterns on them.

I do think that any o the bargain sort of dept. stores like K.Mart, and WalMart, and Walgreens will have the stuff that you want.
So will Pier 1 Import, and Crate & Barrel but you will pay a hefty price for their things.

How can someone who hates camping make the most of it?

ADB

A friend invited me on a 3 night, 4 day camping trip with her and her family. I would really like to spend time with my friend, but I've never been much of an "outdoor girl". I like a nice hotel room over sleeping on the ground. That said, I need to get away and would really like to try something new. How do you make the most of a camping trip? What's the best way to sleep comfortably and avoid getting eaten alive by mosquitoes? Any hints, tips, or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Turn it into a glamping adventure by bringing all the comforts of home. The easiest way to do that is to use a recreational vehicle they can be rented for the day, the weekend, the week or all summer. These are a hotel on wheels basically and all campgrounds accommodate them.
http://www.cruiseamerica.com/?utm_source=adcenter&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=full

If that is not your thing then tenting can still be a clamping adventure but still just as costly for the first timer. You start with getting a spacious tent and then outfitting it with the state of the art air beds, warm fluffy sleeping bags and or bedding, and comfy camp chairs and a nice side table with a coleman lamp an indoor/outdoor rug by the door and you have a wonderful and comfortable set up.

Skeeters can be kept at bay the same way that you would in your own back yard and decorate your campsite to. You can set out citronella oil lanterns and candles and then use a deet based product on your clothing.

How should I decorate my boys room?

camping tables go outdoors on Neuere Geschichte Der Chineser, Japaner, Indianer, Persianer, Trken ...
camping tables go outdoors image
Q. I have a 8, 3 and 3 month old in the same bedroom. I want to move but the 3 bedroom apt are full and we can't afford a house right now.

Answer
A decorating theme is a great way to begin decorating a room for a child. If you're like most parents, you've probably spent lots of time thinking about decorating your new child's room even before he joined your family. While bunnies are cute and teddy bears are darling, you might want something different for the bedroom or playroom.

There are lots of great themes for boys' rooms. A special theme will provide both the focus and the inspiration for a special one-of-a-kind room and can be adapted as your child grows. Time to get started!

Bug's Life
From bees and ants to frogs and reptiles, creatures of nature often capture a child's attention. Browse theme ideas at Posh Tots including a Bug Off Table and Chair Set, Bug bed linens, and or frog lamp.

Favorite Animals
What boy wouldn't love a room focusing on his favorite pet? Whether it's a dog or cat, bird or snake, using this theme will make your son (and his pet) feel particularly at home. Be sure to put up lots of pictures with your son and his best friend around the room and make sure you have stuffed animals scattered everywhere.

Playhouse / Playtown
This theme will provide a wonderful scheme for decorating your son's room and provide lots of wonderful playtime possibilities as well. A whimsical or the cute playtown chest can be your starting point. Or, do a border in kids designs or paint a mural of a street scene on one or more walls. Name the storefronts for family members ("Katie's Groceries", "Ted's Puppet Theatre", "Todd's Bike Shop", "Anne's Pet Heaven", "Sara's Video Den", or Dennis' Book Nook").

Safari
For a safari look, find wonderful, colorful animal wallpaper borders and fabrics at any wallpaper store. Paint the walls blue, tan, ivory, or any of the colors in your wallpaper border. Make pillows and valances from coordinating leopard-print fabrics, and find some stuffed lions and tigers for the corner. Mount a butterfly net, binoculars, or straw hat on the walls. Use colorful matboard and frame some of your child's artwork to display. Maybe he'll draw some lions!

Rustic Cabin
Most every child loves spending time at camp or in the mountains. And what parent doesn't have happy childhood memories of hiking, boating, fishing, or just enjoying the outdoors. Birdhouses, bears, moose, and fish might show up in wallpaper borders, in fabrics, bedding, and accessories. For a rustic room you might also choose comfy plaid patterns, flannel fabrics, and log or pine beds. Accessories might use forest themes of animals, mountain scenes, or natural materials such as pine cones, leaves, and sticks. Take another cue from camp and use a sturdy trunk to store toys. With a room this nice, who needs a vacation?

Rain Forest
Choose a colorful jungle border, or try a jungle area rug. Soft fabric snakes and colorful stuffed birds or butterfly cutouts can add to the decor. Make pillows of animal or jungle prints and use themed accessories. Grrr!

Race Cars
With car racing, you think black and white checkered flags, and a finish line. Find an area rug with a car track design. A car bed might be fun, or decorate the walls with a car wall appliques. Add some framed calendar photos or posters of race cars, and put up narrow shelving to display car collections. Zoom!

Outer Space
Take a trip to the stars using a space theme. An Apollo bed set, outerspace border, or star-studded rocking chair might be just the items that inspires your child to reach for the stars. Paint reflective planets or stars on the ceiling in arrangements of the constellations.

Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines
If Dad is in the service, you might let your boy feel patriotic with a room painted in camouflage and outfitted with tanks and desert colors.

Sports
From soccer to baseball to football, sports is a theme that spans the generations. To use a baseball theme for example, use a headboard made from bats, hang curtains from bats used as curtain rods, make a baseball lamp, or hang shelving to display gloves, pennants, and trophies. Paint the room in the colors of your son's favorite team. Sports themed rugs, furniture, and beds are another possibility. Create similar looks for other sports, and you'll have a room that is a big "hit" with sports fans. Play ball!

Wild Colors
Go wild by starting with a lively area rug designed in fun colors for a child. Take your cue from the rug for colors and designs for the rest of the room. Use color everywhere! Paint every surface of a bookcase a different color, and do the same with headboard slats, drawer fronts, and chair legs. This is a great way to help your little one learn his colors! Find a fabric to compliment the rug and use it to tie the room together with window valances or floor pillows.

Movie or Cartoon Characters
There's something for everyone in this theme! Whether your son has been captivated by Mickey Mouse, Alladin, Lion King, Toy Story, or Scooby Doo -- you'll probably be able to find bedding, lamps, and other decorative items that use these themes. Towels for the bathroom and toys will be easy to add.

Pirates
The story of Peter Pan can inspire creative parents to design a wonderful room. Boys intrigued by the notion of pirates will love a room using blue ocean themes, ship masts, portholes, netting, treasure boxes, and secret play hideaways.

Knights and Castles
Artistic parents can faux paint castle walls, murals, and blue skies for a truly memorable room. Use the theme of "A Sword in the Stone" or "Camelot" for inspiration. Find another take on this theme offered by for Mercy's Sake in their Galahad collection.

Trains, Planes, and Automobiles
There are lots of colorful choices in bedding, fabrics, and wallpaper that feature transportation themes. Make a train track border around the room, hang airplanes from the ceiling, or go wild with a car-shaped bed.

Cowboy Kids
This is a fun theme where you can let your imagination run wild. Think bandana valances, chaps wall hangings, tin stars, horses, rope borders, and more. The baby dude designs offered by for Mercy's Sake offer some fun possibilities. Or check out OliveKids.com Camp Wilderness or the Wild West theme designs from PoshTots.com for more creative examples of this theme and products to add to your decor.

Dinosaurs
From cute and stylized to realistic and ferocious -- dinosaurs themes are still popular. If you suspect this is a passing phase for your little one, then opt for solid color bedding and walls, using theme elements in borders, sheets, valances, and posters.

need ideas for birthday party decorations that cover every month of the year for 130 girls?

dmr

this is a girls camp with a cruise theme. each night is a differet theme. 1st night we want to have a big birthday party. we need to set up tables to seperate grls according to the month they were born. need ideas on how to decorate each table and the lodge in general. thought about using holidays or seasons and even birthstoneswhich i loved but cannot find 2 website with the same birthstone information. we want it to be special and affordable. party favors too-help!!!

Answer
January- garnet birthstone so you could either do a red theme or find some red colored rocks or fake gems or just do a happy 2008 theme with icy blue colors and party hats for ringing in the "new year"

February- play up the birthstone of amethyst which is purple or do a valentines day theme with red hots (candies) red table cloths and tissue paper in pink

March- birthstone is Aquamarine which is highly expensive and it is hard to find I wouldn't do the birthstone of this month but I would play up the fun of March's cooler weathered plants coming back to life like tulips or St. Pat's day with the clovers

April- diamonds..you could find those big huge fake diamond rings or diamond looking accents for the napkins etc. I would play up the fact that it rains a lot in April or April fools day. gag gifts like whoopie cushions and umbrellas with fake tinsel hanging off them like rain

May- green emerald colors and you could use the cinco de mayo theme with pinatas and "margarita esque" drinks

June- beach theme summer time, beach balls, sand in candle holders with some sea shells and little mini sunscreens or cheapo glasses

July- red, white and blue theme (I'm american and that is USA to me!) have some red table cloths or white ones, flags, things of that nature use those items that look like tinsel in different colors to make a firecracker effect with a vase

August- peridot or light green color which you could play up for the table.Or just do a different theme of outdoors with fun things to do to beat the heat since august is a relatively HOT month (water balloons, popcicle makers, mini fans)

September- dark blue sapphire color which could be used for this or you could go with a back to school theme with books, rulers, cool pens, markers erasers etc.

October- halloween theme for sure play on the pumpkins, and witches gouls theme endless possibilities there have a cauldron on the table and fill with candies and little goodies like pencils etc.

November- turkey's on the table, leaves all over, pretty oranges, yellow and brown colors. November is citrine which is a rich yellow color and it could be played up for the table. Add a cornocopia for presentation if you would like

December- have some fake snow on the table the stuff that looks like cotton balls or heck buy cotton balls and place around in clumps on the table for a snowy effect. Have some wrapped dummy packages or have some dradels along with this theme so that you can support everyone's religious backgrounds. You could use gift wrap to decorate the table or table cloth with or even make place mats with the stuff

I suggest that for each month you take the theme's above and make name tags for the campers with the theme's in mind. example: December- stocking or candy cane shaped name tag...March- clover shaped name tag..etc.

Have fun with it!
